Freedom bell has rung!!!
Now it is time to LIVE♥️ So incredibly thankful for all the medical team at Levine Children’s Hospital who made this day possible. But not a day goes by or will ever go by, that we aren’t grateful for the hero’s heart and family that gave Kayden a second chance at life!!

Chest tube out!!!
The Devil whispered in my ear:“You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.” Today I whispered in the Devils ear. “I am the storm.”

Plasmapheresis
Early this morning a vascular catheter was placed in Kaydens neck for plasmapheresis. A lot like a dialysis cath. His second heart biopsy was showing antibodies against the new heart starting to form. Meaning his body is saying the heart is foreign, let’s fight it. Plasmapheresis essentially wipes the antibodies out of the blood and they are replaced with Albumin and IVIG (good antibodies). This will be done 3 days, probably Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. His chest tube output has decreased but not gone so he will remain NPO for at least another 24hrs. The plan is still for his hand graft on Wednesday. He continues to be the bravest fighter I know!!

Goodbye ICU
Walking out of the CVICU to the Cardiac Progressive Unit! A week of bed rest, on a ventilator, did a toll on Kaydens body. But it will NOT stop his new heart! Huge thank you to Levine Children’s CVICU Team, especially all the amazing Nurses♥️♥️ #Kaydenstrong #believe #levinechildrenshospital
