We are ready to see everyone this weekend!
Here are a few things to know.

•If you purchased an advance ticket you can pick your wristbands up early!
Saturday beginning at 9AM
Sunday beginning at 10AM

•The event times for this weekend are as follows.
Saturday: 10AM-6PM
Sunday: 11AM-5PM

•All guests are scheduled to be in attendance both days unless stated otherwise, when not at their Q&A or on a short break they will be at their booth signing autographs for fans.

•Professional photo ops will be available for purchase day of but will be CASH ONLY on site.

•Autographs and selfies can be purchased day of at each guests booth. Photos and videos being taken of the celebrities while waiting in line/from a distance is PROHIBITED, you will be asked to delete the content and exit the line.

•The costume contest will take place Saturday the 1st at 5:00 PM on the main stage. You must be signed up by 1:30 PM. Categories do fill up so the earlier you arrive and sign up the better.

JOHN MARKS - ATTRACTION SPOTLIGHT
IRON CITY COMIC CON
JUNE 1 & 2, 2024

John Marks has been a professional artist for over 35 years, specializing in special effects, costume design, and sculpting. In the last 9 years, John has turned his attention to building larger than life props. Most notably, he has built popular characters such as The Hulk, The Iron Giant, Toothless, Light Fury, and most recently The Battlecats. John continues to try and bring his imagination to life for the young and young at heart with his newest props based on the show Avatar the Last Airbender, Appa.

Appa will include Momo and most of the iconic "weapons" from the show. Guest will have an opportunity to sit on the neck to yell "yip yip"; as they feel like they are taking a flight on Appa Air. Passengers will have a range of photo opportunities they can choose from. No matter what the choice is it will be an experience like nowhere else.

Unfortunately, Kurt Angle & Matt Riddle are unable to join us this weekend.

We don't do set guest signing times. Our guests are generally at their booths meeting fans unless at a Q&A or photo op or taking a short break. All guests are scheduled to attend both days unless otherwise noted on the Guest section of our website.

Pricing for guests can also be found on the Guest section of our website. If a price isn't listed, we either haven't received it from the guest's management or they don't release their pricing early.

We accept card or cash at the door and at the official merch booth. Most vendors and artists accept cash and card. Some celebs may be cash only while some may also accept card. For celebrities, the general rule is to bring cash. There will be ATMs on site should you need more cash.

FAQ | Iron City Comic Con Iron City Comic Convention is a two-day event being held at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex (2100 Richard Arrington Boulevard North, Birmingham, AL) and will bring together a diverse list of guests, vendors, artists, and fan groups, in an affordable, family-friendly environment.

There is still time to purchase your professional photo op with your favorite guest!

All of the celebrity guests will be doing pro photo ops on their days of attendance. Please remember that the only way to get pictures with groups of guests (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Trek, Aliens, etc) is with a pro photo op. Lee Waddell, who played Ghostface in the original Scream, will be doing an in-costume photo op. These are also only available as a pro photo op.

What is a photo op?
A photo op is essentially a photo taken with you and the celebrity guest or guests you have purchased a ticket for. The photo is taken under ideal lighting conditions and with a top of the line DSLR camera. We then print a high quality 8×10″ of the photo on professional dye-sublimation photo printers. Your photo is ready in around a minute after the photo has been taken with our “print it in a minute” technology. Each photo op also comes with a downloadable image.

You may purchase pro photo ops in advance at the link below; photo ops may also be purchased at the event from Celeb Photo Ops. Please note that all sales at the event are cash only. You may also purchase online at any time up until the photo op happens.
You must have an event ticket to attend the convention. A photo op ticket is not valid for entry to the show, so please make sure you purchase your event passes along with your photo ops.

Extra Life Birmingham is the local chapter of a gaming-centered fundraising program that raises funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Our chapter games to support Children’s of Alabama here in Birmingham. The funds raised go on to support hospital services such as Child Life and Education, Social Services, and Spiritual Care. Extra Lifers have been able to raise over $400,000 since 2010 for Children’s of Alabama and we’re always looking to grow our community and local impact. Join us in the fight to change kids’ health!
