I’m very pleased that this painting, ‘Riding the winds of change’, has been selected for ’s group Winter Show this year. Oil on canvas, 120 x 110cm. Opens tonight 6-8pm.
Come and see it alongside the work of fellow Richmond-based artists. The exhibition is free to visit, everything on display is original and made in the borough.
The exhibition runs from 2 December to 28 January.

Storytelling again with Belinda McKenna Bicknell . via Zoom this morning. Photos 2 & 3 show initial inspiration for Mathilda, a waterfall, bench, moss, string, wise man, storm monster and mountain - some of which gradually disappear under the drawing and developing story. Collage theme for next Riverside Artists Group show (at POSK London in November) is going to my head. Adding bits of paper and tearing up sketches that don’t work. Fun, quick, and allowing something new to emerge.

Yesterday at the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden Gallery in Surrey with fellow artists and picnic. Sketching amidst stunning work by other artists.

Sketching yesterday in Sussex. Quick drawing post-sarnie and others on the hoof. And tea at last. I really was on the hoof as car only covered for a couple of hours. But great afternoon on a perfect summer’s day.

A drawing I did a few weeks ago when painting wasn’t working. I thought I would use it for collage but keeping it for now. 76x57cm, mixed media on paper.

Last of the traveller’s new collages.

The first I did at midnight at Mangere terminal, Auckland. The second is the ‘collaged’ carpet at Changi.

Sorting out results of mark-making workshop with Sally Cole at Kumeu Arts Centre in March. Cutting up parts I want to keep, I have been distracted by all the other snippets to collage new drawings.

The romance of names - Erzurum, Arat, Khvoy, Tabriz, much under cloud from London to Singapore on 1st leg to NZ today, inc Black Sea which I had to imagine, and by the Caspian. How to describe spectacular snow and ice over mountains and desert.
