The United States Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Workshop
The United States Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Workshop (TUSABTEW) is one of the largest annual tuba-euphonium workshops in the world.
The workshop's mission is to give students, performers, and educators an opportunity to meet and share ideas, talents, and opinions about the tuba and euphonium. TUSABTEW regularly hosts participants throughout the nation and abroad. The workshop is held at Brucker Hall—The U.S. Army Band’s state of the art performance center—located on historic Fort Myer, Virginia, just across the Potomac River f

Exhibits the next two days will be in Spates hall (where everything was held today). We will be offering a shuttle van between the two venues from 12pm-5pm both days.

It’s Workshop week! 🚌 Friday and Saturday we will be offering a shuttle between Patton Hall and Spates Hall from 12:00pm and 5:00pm so our guests can travel between the spaces easier.

Sousaphone virtuoso Matt Perrine will be our featured guest on our opening day evening concert with the U.S. Army Blues on February 1 at 7:30pm. Better yet, YOU will have a chance to be a part of the performance! Bring your horns to help perform a song at the end of the show! 🎵
Here’s a little bit about Matt’s career!-
Matt Perrine is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger from New Orleans. He has perfomed in venues from The Sydney Opera House, BBC Studios, Jazz at Lincoln Center to The Bottom Line, Ronnie Scott's, Snug Harbor and The North Sea Jazz Festival . He has been seen around the world performing with Ray Anderson's Pocket Brass Band, The Tin Men, Bonerama, Jon Cleary, The United States Navy Band, Erika Stucky, Susan Cowsill, and all-star group, the Midnite Disturbers. Recording credits include Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Dr. John, Ani DiFranco, Florence and the Machine, Alex McMurray, Jerry Douglas, Maryanne Faithful, Bruce Hornsby, Better Than Ezra, Bonerama, Leigh Harris, ok go and Stanton Moore. He has composed and written arrangements for acts as varied as The Boston Pops, Kevin Clark's BOSE Big Band, The Pfister Sisters, The New Orleans Nightcrawlers, Bonerama and Tony Award-winner, Michael Cerveris. His compositions have been featured on HBO's critically accliamed series, TREME, syndicated NPR series, The Reading Life, and as the program theme for Comic Relief 4. Matt is the musical director and orchestrator for Nine Lives - the Musical. Matt can be seen locally performing with The Tin Men, Paul Sanchez and the Rolling Road Show, The Midnite Disturbers, Debbie Davis, The Klezmer All-Stars, John Gros, Alex McMurray, Bonerama, Aurora Nealand & the Royal Roses, the Panorama Jazz Band and the Last Waltz tribute with Warren Haynes and Don Was.

We are looking forward to welcoming back former member of the United States Army Band "Pershing's Own" David Zerkel! He will be performing Radiant Dances by James Naigus with the U.S. Army Orchestra at the 2024 Tuba-Euphonium Workshop.
He is currently Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at the University of Michigan and has had incredible successes as a performer and educator. You can hear his performance on Friday, February 2 at 7:30pm! He will also be offering a masterclass the next day.

We are honored to feature renowned tubist Carol Jantsch at this year's Tuba-Euphonium Workshop! The first female tuba player ever to win a position in a major symphony orchestra, she has also blazed a trail as a tuba soloist. She has released two solo CD's and premiered concertos by composers Michael Daugherty and Wynton Marsalis.
At the 2024 Workshop, she will be presenting a masterclass and soloing with the United States Army Band "Pershing's Own"!
