Kadaitcha – Tramontane (Album – ant-zen)

Genre/Influences: Electro-Industrial, Experimental, Noise.

Format: Digital, Vinyl.

Background/Info: Kadaitcha is an Ukrainian duo driven by Yurii Samson and Andrii Kozhukhar. Their music has been introduced as exploring ‘organic aspects of Noise, Post-Industrial and archaic aesthetics - an extreme experience for another dimension.’ They previously released a few albums and this year joined hands together with Ant-Zen to unleash their newest opus.

Content: The album stands for an eclectic production moving from Electro-Industrial stuff driven by slow rhythms and ghost-like vocals to Industrial & Experimental cuts reminding me of an imaginary transposition from Psychic TV into 2023. You also will notice that some passages sound like pure improvisation creating an apocalyptic sensation and a true Noise chaos.

+ + + : Kadaitcha definitely have created an own style and approach which sounds Industrial and Experimental but still Electronic on one side and moving at the edge of Noise on the other. It sounds to me as a sound collage creating an imaginary bridge between 80s Experimental music and contemporary formats.

- - - : I’m less into the more chaotic- and Noise parts of the work.

Conclusion: Kadaitcha is an interesting and precious addition to the Ant-Zen roster; an unpredictable album but always connected with Industrial music.

Best songs: “Knife”, “Seed”, “Claw”.

Kadaitcha - Tramontane "Tramontane" von Kadaitcha hätte nur ein weiteres. qualitativ wie so oft einwandfreies Noise- und Post-Industrial-Album aus dem Hause Ant-Zen sein können. Back in spring 2022 we composed the track Seed specifically for «Dniprovia» compilation released by Khatacomb. This was our reflection upon the ongoing events we had a misfortune to find ourselves in together with millions of our homeland folks.
Later on this track has made its way to our newly released album «Tramontane», but amongst all album tracks this particular is the only one completely written after the beginning of full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine and during our time in occupation.

Somewhere around that time we gave a small interview to Gianmarco Del Re for his blog A Closer Listen which partially touches upon this topic as well.
Gianmarco has interviewed (and continues to) dozens of ukrainian artists, and together with Система he eventually released a huge portion of these interviews as a book with accompanying music compilation featuring the works of interviewed artists created since February 24, 2022, which also includes the above mentioned track by Kadaitcha.

A fruit and a claw mark thereon, a dirty seed and a vacuous paradise. When will your beast quench its thirst? What is the ground of your confidence when this crimson mist is growing ever more viscous? Black, mortal, unappreciated. White, dreadful, alive. On the slope, in curses, in oneiric masks. The night won't end, it's not the night. The bonfires burning down, the last songs rustle. For everyone to leave, for anxiety to recede. Are they, the ones who left, the strangers or are you a straggler? And the sun that has no heat henceforth is nothing but an incinerating fire.
