A Little Help

The American Four-Square is a beauty and this one is no exception! There are however challenges with the layout; mainly the entryway is the 2nd biggest room in the house! What do you do when your space isn't working but you don't want to make structural changes?

We were able to steal some of that hall and enlarge the living area with a larger rug that helped redefine the space available. Now there's a spot to put on shoes, more seating, cozy evenings by the fire and dining alfresco, all with one rug!

This beautiful colonial with its formal entryway needed a little something to showcase all it's molding and trim, it's also, as we say in New England - "wicked dahk" in there. These rechargable, cordless, remote controlled, sconces are perfect; adding light and little somethin' to this special entry.
There are so many styles to choose from, but these art lights (found on Amazon) by Joosenlux for $32.99 each were the perfect way to glam up this hall.

We updated this sparsely used formal living room by adding casual comfort as well as functionality- adding a built in over the heater; housing a TV and of course the swivel chairs once again save the day with their flexibility!

The long and narrow livingroom is a tricky one! My clients purchased this sectional to accommodate their growing family - but when it arrived were concerned about its size. Changing the color and keeping everything light and neutral helped create an airy feel. Now the whole family can gather in one place! My clients use the little seating area by the windows often as it is a sunny spot to do some work.

Want a change but dont have a lot of money to spend? Use what you have. Move things around. Grab items from other rooms. The toilet is the only thing bolted down! If you aren't sure where to start... give me a call. I've got some ideas.

My client wanted to pull her existing pieces together. We warmed up the gray with a textured tan rug, cream curtains and throw. A camel leather sofa is in the works and will look great with the black and white pillows. Plants and artwork pull it altogether; the little details that make a room cozy and finished.

Missing my mom today and everyday. She would be loving this proper Brittish Christmas in her honor - complete with Christmas cracker and paper crowns 👑. We'll move the whole table into the livingroom in front of the fire. Of course there needs to be greenery for me and the rocks I collected at our last family trip to Moosehead Lake. So greatful for our time together, and this Christmas season of hope and the Gospel's promise of reunion. Hoping you all have a joyful holiday knowing Christmas is for you. You are loved.
