MODT is a sustainable unisex streetwear brand exclusively produced in Berlin with 100 % biological and fairtrade fabrics that are GOTS certified. In addition, the brand focuses on waste reduction with regards to its production techniques and shipping methods, where possible. The printing processes for its fabrics use absolutely no automated machinery, this allows for subtle variations in its print
s, therefore making the end product unique to the final customer. The final cut and sew is done by a Kreuzberg based seamstress and the patterns are made in Treptow (also in Berlin). All artistans and artists that MODT collaborates with are living and working in Berlin. This allows for quick environmentally responsible decisions, regarding design processes to be made especially fast and efficiently while stimulating local businesses. The graphic imagery and design concepts are the sole aesthetic property of Brandon Schell, a Berlin based fine artist and print maker who moved to Berlin from Brooklyn New York in the summer of 2014. Like MODT, Schell’s personal practice concentrates on subtle variations of repitive patterns which document the creative and practical methodologies of human behavior. It is the mission of MODT to introduce new fresh sillouhettes and shapes to the contemporary art and fashion world while remaining ethical and conscious.
