The 2023 IGtoberfest is ON!! With a few changes!
OK... Plans are final - the date is changed to Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Sunday just isn't going to work. Since I couldn't get a pavilion for Saturday, we are having the event this year at my home. I have a half-acre fenced yard and my home is very lived-in by dogs, not fancy, but all are welcome! So, here's the info:
- Please RSVP to me (Ruth Beall) via Messenger or e-mail ([email protected]) and I will give you my address and any other information you may need. If you don't RSVP, I will assume you are not coming. We must have numbers so we can plan how much food, drinks, etc. are needed. PLEASE BRING CHAIRS with you, since I don't have nearly enough chairs for everyone. Sorry for late notice on the change, but I just couldn't make it work otherwise.
- What to expect? Games, food, a vendor or two, a raffle, an auction, IGtoberfest King and Queen contest, and more!

Share Photos of Your Animal Family Members (dogs, cats, etc....both living and deceased) via the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation 2024 calendar!!!

Here is an opportunity to remember much loved animal family members who have crossed the rainbow bridge as well as your living animal family members. They can all be presented and celebrated through the 2024 large 13 month full color Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation (IGRF) calendar! Every kind of animal is WELCOME in this calendar...but no humans. Printing the calendar is expensive...so we sell photo spots to people who love an animal.....any animal. Thumbnail photo spots and Rainbow Bridge thumbnails (for pets who have passed away) are $25 each. Iggymate Centerfolds (large photo...1 per month) are limited to Italian Greyhounds as is the back cover at $150 each. The finished calendars (which are always GORGEOUS!) will be sold for $12 each including the cost of USA shipping. We have not raised our prices in 20 years! Every penny of profit goes to the federally designated 501C3 non-profit IG Rescue Foundation!!! Please share your beautiful dogs, cats, birds, etc. with other animal lovers through this beautiful calendar! We need your support!!!!

Firework season is fast approaching and in some places is already here.
It's that time of year again for a reminder.

Please, please, please make sure all your animals information is up to date with any chips you have installed in the pet. Also be sure they have collars on with the tag to identify the dog's name and phone number for the owner.

Honestly collars with tags on them are the first line to get that pet home to you fast in many cases without them having to go to a shelter where they pick up diseases like kennel cough. Chips take time to verify through a vet or shelter but are also important in case a collar is removed or falls off, so start contacting chip companies now to get that information updated. If you are not sure what company has your chip, you can Google this information using the chip number and there are websites that help direct you.

If you have adopted an Italian Greyhound from us you should have received a collar with a silver heart-shaped tag with a toll free number for the dog and a phone number for us. Please be sure that the dog is wearing that collar. If you have moved since you've adopted that dog or other information has changed please call the number that is on that silver tag to find out how you can update the information easily online.
Please do this now and don't put it off.

Once your dog is already lost it is going to be difficult to get information updated and too late for the dog to have his/her collar put on!

Don't let this holiday season be the days you regret you lost your pet please be very diligent with your doors, yards, and having your pet on a leash as well. Fireworks can sometimes suddenly go off very nearby scaring not only you but terrifying your pet. They can bolt so hard the leash can rip right out of your hand.

We've had a rough start to this year. Hope all are well! Last year, we hosted a new Iggy event in Fort Wayne, Indiana, called the IGtoberfest, in September. I'd like to know if there's any interest in having another event this year. Assuming I can get the pavillion rented again, it will be on a Saturday in September. The Oktoberfest in Germany starts on Saturday, September 16, and that will be the target date for the IGtoberfest in Fort Wayne. We would like to say Thank you to everyone who helped support rescue with the recent online flash auctions. We had some amazing things donated and had lots of fun raising money for rescue. We raised over $500. As for now the auctions are over. We do have a fundraiser starting next week and then we have a fundraiser in September. We plan to do online auctions again in the fall.
