Musical Theater/Singing Mission: P.A.S. is designed to develop, promote and educate young singers into the world of musical theater in Thailand. Each year P.A.S.
Being in P.A.S singers will enhance musicianship, self-expression, acting skills, creativity and social growth through active participation in a positive and dynamic learning atmosphere. In addition P.A.S. will give sponsor to an individual talented singers to study at Play Act. Also the chosen orphanage or institution will give P.A.S. concert’s profit for special child. Goal: To give chance to yo
ung singers to develop their musicianship through performance. will perform concert series with wide varities of music and a musical theater performance. Objectives:
Skill Development Objectives
• To develop listening/aural skills.
• To develop music literacy skills.
• To help the young singers to develop their vocal technique in healthy and fun ways of
learning.
• To develop singer’s preparation, and performance skills.
• To develop singer’s expressiveness and communicative musical skills. Personal Development Objectives
• To enhance each singer's self-image.
• To encourage a sense of discipline, self-esteem, responsibility and commitment in all members.
• To foster a love and appreciation for the arts and a love of group singing. Ensemble Development Objectives
• To perform quality choral/solo repertoire at the highest artistic standard.
• To develop theater skills in all aspects of the program.
• To develop the ability to sing in different languages and experience different cultures.
• To develop the ability to perform and function as a cohesive ensemble – teamwork. Curriculum: Young singer will explore their vocal technique through a series of group vocal dynamics. In addition, P.A.S. music director created additional materials for vocal learning processes of the young singers to fulfill their needs as a group and individual. This is based on Dalcroze and Feldenkrais method. But these methods are the only foundations of the learning process. Therefore there is no “fix method”. Since singing is an art, PAS will continue to explore many ways of singing and performing until they reach their full potential as individual singer. General Plan
PAS GROUPS
P.A.S. VOYAGE - (Spanish word: means ideas of exploration and discovery) 8-12 years old, male and female with exception to boys changing voice. P.A.S. ARMONIA - (means harmony in Italian) 13-19 years old male or female. Audition dates: (tentative) April 23-24,2011 from 4-6 P.M. Requirements:
• Audition is free of charge.
• Application form with full body and ID picture.
• A series of vocal exercise will be given at the beginning of the audition for vocal placement.
• One song with accompaniment (piano or backing track) from classical - pop music.
• One unaccompanied song from any musical.
• Applicant must be able to echo the melodic pattern given by music director. Audition Rules and Regulations:
1. Applicants must know well the music of the song.
2. Cancellation must be made 2 days before the audition date. This can be re-schedule. If the applicants failed to inform the PAS organizer before the given date, there will be no re-scheduling for the audition.
3. Applicants must arrived at least 15 mins before the given time.
4. Applicants must wear comfortable clothes.
5. Song must be sing from memory.
6. If the applicants wish to use backing tract, this must be submitted at least one day before the given date.
*Once the applicant passed the audition he/she will be contacted by one of the PAS organizer for the rehearsal’s schedule.
