Thin Cin started just last March and...
Since that time, through posting photos of my meals, and writing a motivational blog- I have had the privilege of helping people make friends with food. I am a formerly morbidly obese person that is reaching out to people to assist them in making the best choices of the food they eat. For almost nine years, I have been at a healthy weight. My health is exc

Carb free French toast!!! Wonderful!!
AN AMAZING DISH!!!
I have always loved the taste of most Chinese dishes. Especially anything that had the word “Moo sho” in it. Due to the carbs in the pancakes, and the unknown amount of fat used in commercial preparation - it was a dish I no longer ate...until now.

The other day I wrote about the difficulty of avoiding all the holiday treats that can derail healthy eating. I am a big believer in knowing “safe meals”....places you can eat out....and stay on course. A favorite place to make healthy choices is Starbucks. They have a comprehensive nutrition site that gives great information on their food. I especially like the fact that their breakfast food is served all day. But sometimes having choices makes life a bit difficult. What do I mean? You walk into Starbucks and placed right next to the healthy item you were planning to buy...is a great looking sinful treat! Truth be told...sometimes I cave... and make the wrong choice. So this week I have decided that choices are not good for me. It is just too easy to say...I’ll wait until after New Years. I have decided that the best course for me at least until New Years is to use a meal service that will deliver fresh healthy high protein meals to my door. No cooking, no choices...no derailing my efforts!
Ok, it’s been a long, long time. After posting everything I ate for over a year... I thought I would post when I could bring something different to the table. So, here we go...
Today is December 24th-tonight is Christmas Eve. Controlling eating this time of year is a challenge. Is it possible? Yes...but I am all too human and find it extremely difficult to stay away from holiday treats. It is the most fattening time of the year. I once read that a gain of ten pounds is easily possible from Thanksgiving thru New Years. Personally, my birthday is December 30 (same as Carson Wentz, Tiger Woods, Lebron James and Sandy Kofax) which makes year end a banquet!
So... I am planning my plan today. I live in a city with great food (who doesn’t?). I work all day, and find it a luxury in life to not cook dinner. A perfect day for me is drinking 60 oz. sugar free Vitamin waters, walking a mile...abstaining from bread, potatoes, pasta and eating only healthy carbs, lean protein and limit dairy to Greek yogurt.
Simple...nothing ever is.
It is time to make my “go out” to eat list for 2018. I will post it as soon as I have it done. Until then...I will try to limit those holiday treats!
Tonight I am a guest speaker at the historic Pennsylvania Hospital. The topic...successful weight management after bariatric surgery.
This is great...low sugar, low fat and very high protein.
Vegan gnocchi made with tofu!!! From Di Bruno's in Philadelphia. Soooo good!
Hi friends of ThinCin...I had to share this with you. I bought a half of jerk chicken breast roast. Took the apple coring tool and extracted chicken in tube shape. I did the same with the cucumber. I rolled the chicken in spicy red vegetable sauce...And placed it in cucumber. It looked like a sushi roll and tasted great.
I steamed cauliflower until it was very soft. I put it in my Ninja blender and added chicken bouillon to taste. I pulverized it and set it aside. In a small amount of very hot sesame oil I quickly blackened chopped onions and sliced mushrooms. I then stirred everything together and added whole almonds that I had lightly coated with truffle oil and seasoning. This is comfort food with redeeming qualities and amazingly fantastic taste. It is gluten free, dairy free and can be made Kosher. You could wrap in a lettuce leaf or a soy wrap and have a blintz!
We have a winner! The best combination was just using the coconut flakes on the chicken wings. I dipped the chicken wings in the coconut flakes, I refrigerated it for one hour and I cooked it on convection roast at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. No other ingredients were used.
