Original semi-abstract oil seascape. Created using a fine base layer of colour, painted over with a palette knife adding depth and texture. Finished with sketched pencil details.
Painted from source photographs of Ros Beach in Ireland, but with desaturated colours and loose sweeping paint texture in the foreground.
Recently SOLD in Skylark 🙌🙌 and finding its way to a new home in the US.

Artist of the day - Sarah Knight

Sarah is both a painter and printmaker inspired by nature and landscape in its grand sweeping scale and delicate minute detail. Her paintings are semi-abstract oils loosely based on the landscape, and her linocut prints focus on small details like grasses, reeds and flowers. Each print is done by hand and finished with pencil details. Sarah paints using rollers and palette knives, and then draws over the paint surface with pencil, linking both media with the common thread of colour and line.

Ealing Art Group’s Summer show is now open at Gunnersbury Museum.
Open daily (except Mondays) until 28th July. Free admission - so go for a stroll around and appreciate local talent.
I am exhibiting linocuts on the main walls and also original oil seascapes on the affordable art wall at a special price of just £50.

I’m DELIGHTED to say I have works selected for THE LITTLE PICTURE SHOW exhibition by Highgate Contemporary Art Gallery!! 🙌🙌
They had 10,000 images submitted for this open call exhibition so I feel very happy to get in. It goes live online at 10am tomorrow, but is updated a number of times so not sure which batch my paintings will be in.

I’m enjoying framing up some small original oils to take into Skylark Gallery . So satisfying cleaning the glass, taping the backs and adding labels 🙌 this one is a semi-abstract seascape inspired by source photos taken in Hope Cove, Dartmouth quite a few years ago, it was a glorious day, and the light in the cove had turned the sea this beautiful milky fresh green.
