What does catalytic leadership look like? Look at Mt. San Jacinto Community College.

Ben, an Area Director with InterVarsity USA, was listening when a student brought up a need for gospel fellowship and community. He gathered 16 students together to do a prayer walk at the community college. He met with students and spent time prayer walking with them. Ben ordered 2000 flyers and drove back later to table on campus for the start-up.

Sue, a leader at Moms in Prayer International, has seen believers demonstrate their faith through prayer at The Orchard Church. Catalytic planting leadership looks like Sue getting connected to Ben and also involved in prayer walks at Mt. San Jacinto Community College.

Catalytic leadership looks like saying yes. It looks like spending time. It looks like asking to partner with ministries.

It looks like a local church ministry leader with a vision to unleash an outbreaking of the Holy Spirit in the church to become an in-breaking of the Spirit on nearby community college campuses. Ephesians 3:20-21

Metro areas like Los Angeles are bustling with opportunities, but can also be the most challenging to reach.

In LA proper, there are 13 college campuses without a known ministry presence.

This summer, InterVarsity USA hosted 80 people with a heart to plant where there is no known gospel ministry.

These 80 planters, from InterVarsity staff, church partners, college students, and campus ministry volunteers, gathered at Wheaton College for a Planting Leaders Summit. This time of worship, prayer, equipping, and connecting was designed to engage and empower anyone who wants to start something new.

The highlight of the event was a dedicated prayer time where believers prayed over one another and for the work God is doing!

From the summit, there were 17 teams trained and equipped to plant ministries in underserved areas across the county, including North Dakota, Inland Empire in California, Alaska, and key metro areas. Another 15 teams were mobilized to reach underserved institutions, including community colleges, HBCUs, Tribal colleges, and Hispanic-serving institutions.

Seeing a gospel community on every campus takes a coalition of unified partners.

Campus Multiplication Network trains and equips leaders to plant and multiply gospel-centered ministries on college campuses.

Community colleges and their satellite campuses are often overlooked and lack known gospel communities. Today, we're focusing on Harrisburg Area Community College, which has four campuses without a known ministry presence.

On a recent trip to Chicago, an EveryCampus partner turned a few hours in the city into an opportunity to intercede on behalf of several campuses in close proximity.

On his prayer walk, Cru Executive Director of Mission Expansion Dan Allan offered this simple prayer at each location.

"Heavenly Father, as we anticipate the start of another school year, we pray for the students and faculty at this campus. We pray that, in your grace, you will connect Christian students and reach those who do not yet have a relationship with You. We pray that You heal and help those who are hurting. Would you raise up workers to disciple the men and women at these schools--even from among the students and faculty at these schools? We ask that You bring revival and spiritual awakening for Your glory. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen "

May God bring revival to these campuses and the entire city of Chicago!

Bringing the movement of God to college campuses is the call for the entire body of Christ, especially the local church! We are grateful for the churches among our 120+ partners.

Paul Worcester of the North American Mission Board shared five key reasons why many churches are missing the opportunity to reach college students.

As Paul shares, "The truth of the matter is college students are some of the most unreached and strategic people on the planet. It’s my prayer that college ministry would become an increasingly celebrated calling as more and more churches get in the game of reaching the campus."

With more than 40 organizations sharing data to power the EveryCampus community, we are able to build collaborations on campuses with several campus ministries and churches present.

But what about the 1,750 with no known ministry?

Four organizations – Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, USA, Cru, InterVarsity USA, and The Navigators – have pooled their data and are working together with an intent to plant ministries on 175 campuses with no known ministry.

EveryCampus is a coalition of partner organizations and churches catalyzing gospel movements on every college campus.

Evangelism is a key component of a gospel community. At the center of Cru's mission is “Turning lost students and faculty into lifelong, Christ-centered multiplying disciples.”

To kick off the school year, Cru gathered 160 students from 60 campuses for a training to catalyze hearts and minds around a movement of God at the start of the fall semester. The focus: help students grow in their understanding of a gospel movement, recognize the role of relationships in effective ministry, and activate students in evangelism, the DNA of a gospel movement.

Pray for these students as they walk in boldness for Christ, live as spiritual multipliers, and trust God for the fruit of the ministry He prepares!
