LISTERIA OUTBREAK UPDATE: 34 people sick in 13 states, with 2 deaths. Several Boar’s Head deli meat products have been recalled. Do not eat recalled products.
Because Listeria spreads easily among deli equipment and is not killed at refrigerated temperatures, people at higher risk (adults over the age of 65, those with weakened immune systems, and pregnant people) should continue to heat all other deli meats before eating. The county fairs have come to an end, and we are grateful for everyone who played a part in making them so memorable. From participants to volunteers, thank you for your time and effort. Your contributions have made this year's fairs one for the books!

Institute Director, Ron Wilson, reviews Strate's work to bring a $200 million state-of-the-art dairy to Edwards County.
Kansas Profile – Now That’s Rural: Heather Strate, Edwards County dairy When Heather Strate became Edwards County Economic Development Director in 2022, a large dairy was under consideration, but the project ultimately fell through. Strate pursued other options, and now a $200 million state-of-the-art dairy is being constructed in the county.

Join the Edwards County Fair Association - Kansas and the Edwards County 4-H Council at the 2024 Edwards County Fair's "Spirit Week"! Wednesday, July 17 through Friday, July 19 at the Edwards County Fairgrounds.
Using this year's theme "Let's Taco About the Edwards County Fair", 4-H Council members assigned the following themes: Wednesday - Twin Day (match your favorite person or animal), Cowboy or Cowgirl Day (dress in your favorite western attire), and Fiesta Day (show us your brightest colors). Winners, with the best representation of that day's theme, will be selected each day for various prizes.
So come out to the Edwards County Fair, support the local 4-H'ers and community exhibitors, and possibly win a prize!
