SOLTI was established in 2016, a few years after I relocated to the Philippines from London. I studied Fashion Design & Merchandise at FIDM, San Francisco, and Fashion Styling in London. Even though I was immersed in the fashion industry for a few years, I never thought it was something I would pursue here in the Philippines. When I first moved back in 2011, I began a blog on fashion, art, travel and wellness. I loved being able to share a wide range of topics, write about my life, and share my experiences, but after a couple of years, I was naturally led back to designing and working on projects at the source of fashion. I hired a seamstress to help birth my designs, spent hours searching for sustainable textiles and machines, made a lot of errors, and, learnt a lot! Everything came about so naturally; there was no planning, only doing, and no business plan, just creations. I created and created, focusing on swimwear and activewear, as those were the kinds of clothes that suited my lifestyle at the time. Things were going well for a few years, I expanded to resort wear and customised pieces, but eventually, my personal growth caused me to feel disconnected to my brand. I found that my creations were out of alignment with my new self since I began to focus more on personal development, spirituality, holistic health, and wellness. Change is inevitable, and if you allow it to be, exciting. Slowly, SOLTI began to evolve, but it was in the midst of the 2020 pandemic when SOLTI was restructured and re-birthed.
Now, more than ever, I feel that SOLTI is a true representation of the eco-warrior and self-care advocate that I am. I am proud to have collaborated with locally handmade artists to create natural and organic products, and happy to have transitioned from swimwear and activewear to affordable luxury, resort wear pieces. All clothing limited and handmade with passion and compassion, with a promise of producing minimal waste. SOLTI not only creates handmade goods, but also represents a lifestyle with our Nurture Your Nature group for women - a space where women can feel free to be themselves, connect with other women, and join in on virtual sacred circles and retreats. SOLTI is for every woman who stands for Mother Earth and humanity, and who chooses to nurture her mind, body and spirit.
It has been a blessing to be alive during these times and to witness the changes and growth in society. I am grateful for all the people who have witnessed and who continue to support SOLTIโs evolution. I thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
We are in a new era - an age of self-love, self-development, compassion, health, and understanding. I wish for SOLTI to serve you thorough your growth, to act as a supportive sister, and to encourage you on your journey to Self, whichever path you are on.
