The Pause Pod
Welcome to The Pause Pod. A podcast for people experiencing (Peri)Menopause
This movement is a supportive, global village of women who are ready to up-level and maintain their self-care services, so they can serve those in their care with goodness and grace.
I don’t show off. I show how. I show my community how I’m aging well and how to be the healthy vibrant beings they want and deserve to be as they grow older into their 50s and beyond.
Living well does not mean living perfectly. It’s living in alignment from the inside out. It’s practicing self-awareness, acknowledging and taking action. It’s having access to resources to support you.
For example, yesterday was an emotionally charged for me. God knew exactly what I needed. A friend called me, and we spent 02:25:33 on the phone. We both hung up inspired and reenergized, feeling centered and grounded. Meaningful friendship is a balm for well-being. A safe community is comforting.
It’s no accident I feel well. It’s intentional work. It’s awareness, acknowledgment and action. My space is for amplifying and optimizing well-being. Plus 40/50? Join us.

This past spring, I embarked on an exciting endeavor to empower people experiencing peri and post-menopause, and those who want to support them. I designed and taught a 7-module course in what I aptly named, THE MENOPAUSE LAB. It's impactful and digestible. Lord knows, I didn't want to make it overwhelming.
Inside The Menopause Lab I share foundations for care during this transitional phase and beyond.
The first iteration/beta was a success. So I'm opening it up to more people in the fall.
If you'd like well-aging support that includes menopause support from an experienced, nurturing, credentialed, vulnerable, honest knowledgable, caring educator and well-being founder - (damn, can't believe how easy it is for me to big myself up, but that's growth) - hit the link and sign up to my newsletter to get notifications for when enrollment re-opens.

It takes curiosity, courage, conviction, caring and vulnerability to talk about uncomfortable truths.

At the core of everything I do is health and well-being. Whether it’s clean beauty/skin care, gut care or menopause care - all self-care. There’s one end goal. Optimizing health for vitality in longevity. Like someone said on IG, “The goal is to grow old.”
And why do I say “vitality in longevity?” Well, we’re not guaranteed long life. However, if we’re gifted long life, we want it to include vitality for a vibrant and independent existence.
That’s a goal. And one well worth making sacrifices and showing up for. For myself and for those with aligned values. That's my Aquarian contribution to humanity. I believe it's one that I can't help. LOL! Don't get me wrong, it's not all for free.
Post IOBM, I've been creating community and safe spaces for well-aging. My entire body has changed through the menopausal transition and it will continue to change as I age. And I’ve leaned into many of the changes and learned a lotta things.
Some of you already know. Over the past two years, I’ve been slowly creating community on a space outside of social media. My own space. dixielincolnnichols.com
My email list is growing rapidly. And the ideas are flowing.
The flow has given birth to The WELL-AGING ACADEMY along with my first course in 8 years. The MENOPAUSE LAB.
I’m doing it scrappy. I’ll optimize as I go. But it’s good. Really good. If you're in your forties and fifties plus, check it out and sign up for the newsletter.

Consider the fear of communication and the isolation some experience because society perpetuates the notion that aging and rites of passage like menopause are undesirable and should be shrouded in shame and secrecy. https://dixielincolnnichols.com/running-during-menopause/
It makes sense that some people are afraid to seek support in navigating the challenges that sometimes accompany the menopausal transition. But there is support in communities like THE PAUSE POD, which reject old, outdated, and misleading paradigms for a new diverse, inclusive, and personalized approach that recognizes menopause as a transformative life stage and celebrates its inherent potential for growth, empowerment and well-being.
In this podcast episode, Guinness World Record Marathoner and award-winning photographer Regina Fleming share her insights on getting creative, exploring new interests, and activating deep desires to increase health and well-being during menopause and beyond.
It’s worth a listen.

With The Pause Pod Podcast, I wanted, first and foremost, to focus on the people experiencing peri/post-menopause. Experts are great, valued, appreciated, and necessary. And I’ll have them on. But I want to connect the human faces to this human experience that’s menopause.
So having real people on to tell their stories is important. Asking people what they want, how they are coping, and getting their perspective is also important. I want people experiencing menopause to feel seen, heard, cared for, and valued during this phase.
The many complexities of menopause can leave women tired, overwhelmed, and frustrated. Trust me, I know those feelings all too well as I’m currently navigating the post-menopause phase.
Well, we stand to learn a thing or two from my guest, who is counteracting the downsides of menopause by chasing the glow to level up her midlife-menopause experience.
Monique Cupid is the founder & executive producer of ML Design and Production, lifestyle content creator at Midlife Glow Chaser, and Brown Skin Green Beauty.
Lean in and listen to her menopause story and what she does to glow up despite the hormonal changes that sometimes threaten to dull her shine.

Menopause hot flashes and night sweats robbing you of quality sleep? Try these 5 sheets to help keep your body cool.
Not Sleeping During Menopause? Try These 5 Sheets For Support However, during the menopausal process - which causes hormonal changes - sleep can be interrupted. And that, my friends, can lead to cranky, miserable, frustrating days and even chronic illnesses like depression, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Cranky and ill are not the goals.
Menopause is a dynamic transitional phase, with everyone having their own unique experience. It may be a breeze for some and a challenge for others. Wherever you fall on the spectrum, I know this much is true; support is necessary to optimize well-being.
The sad thing is, seeking support can be daunting. The old lies about our body and its existence as we age has led to stigmas, taboos, and consequent shame that shackle many people experiencing menopause.

Thursday greetings lovelies.
Today, my friend Sonya Shields shares her menopause journey on The Pause Pod: (a podcast for menopausal people and those who want to support them). https://dixielincolnnichols.com/the-pause-pod/
Go take a listen to her vulnerable share about this topic.
The thing is, while menopause can be a liberating time for some, it can also cause feelings of insecurity, primarily because of the long-standing taboos and shame, especially for those who feel like they’re no longer able to meet the societal expectations of youth and beauty.
So being vulnerable during this phase is an understandably tall task for many. No one wants to expose themselves to the possibility of emotional harm due to the lack of understanding and harmful narrative passed down.
Be sure to sign up for the newsletter and listen on Itunes, Spotify and Audible. Leave a comment and a review. Thank you.
If menopause education/lifestyle is something you're interested in, then this podcast is for you. Stick around as I work to change the narrative of secrecy and shame, normalize the conversation, and create a supportive and forward-thinking community about the menopausal rite of passage.
