1967 Pontiac 2+2 . . . Pontiac's 2+2 performance model debuted in the 1964 model year as a trim-only option for the Catalina, equipped with special door panels, bucket seats with a center console, and exterior badging. Pontiac marketed the 2+2 as the "big brother" to the popular GTO. 1967 was the final year for the marque, which was discontinued due to poor sales. Canada was lucky enough to have the 2+2 until 1970. The name reappeared briefly in 1986 on the Grand Prix 2+2 "aerobody" coupe, of which 1,225 were built. Ronald Campbell. Pontiac Motor Division FB page.

1969 Plymouth 'Cuda ''M'' code.

A mid-year addition to the Barracuda line, was the M code 440 ‘Cuda. Chrysler’s Plymouth division teamed up with Hurst/Campbell to build the meanest Barracuda to date. Shoehorning the big block in the pony car did come with issues. Mainly clearance for the steering-assist hardware and brake booster. So, the 440 made do with manual steering and drums all around.

All M code ‘Cuda’s came equipped with the 375hp, 480 ft-lbs of torque 440 4v Magnum, followed by a TorqueFlite automatic transmissions. It’s said That Chrysler’s engineers feared offering a manual four-speed, that could encourage power shifting and destroy the car's rear end. After all, when clients would check off the ‘’M Code package’’ on the dealer’s ordering form, Chrysler didn’t expect them to buy the car and use it for leisurely Sunday drives.

Plymouth built around 358 of these M-code 440 'Cudas for the US and Canadian markets. Alto Motortrend specified ‘’The numbers on 440 'Cuda production vary depending on the source’’. The cars were offered in both fastback and notchbacks roof lines (most were ordered as FB). These cars were delivered with the same limited 12-month/12,000 mile warranty that came with 426 HEMI cars.

Performance wize, with almost 60 percent of the 'Cuda 440's weight up front and equipped with factory skinny tires, making the car run the 13’s, in stock trim, did require technique and drag racing knowhow. Super Stock magazine tested a bone stock 1969 M Code in August 1969, coming up with a 13.89 sec. ET@ 103.21 mph.

The 'Cuda 440 Special Package included:

-440-Cubic-Inch 4bbl V8, rated at 375hp and 480lb/ft of torque
-TorqueFlite automatic transmission
-3.55 Sure Grip rear axle
-Heavy-Duty Suspension (HD Torsion Bars, HD Leaf Springs, Front Anti-Sway Bar)
-Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers, 1" Diameter, Front and Rear
-14" x 5 1/2" Heavy Duty body color matched Steel Wheels c/w dig dish type wheel covers.
-E70 x 14" Wide Boot Red Streak tires
-Console and bucket seats
-Dual Hood Scoops and Tape Stripes-Black
-Lower Body Stripes - Black
-Black Grille
-'Cuda 440 script decals.

Hi guys…
Figured I’d try even though it’s a LONG shot.
I had a 1970 Plymouth GTX in HS in 1975 had it till around ‘79 or 80 when I sold it to a friend (Eugene W.) I had a fire in the engine compartment so I pulled the motor and sold it and the transmission (18 spline 4speed).
My 70 had a 440 with 4-speed (console car) but I removed the console and re-carpeted it in a rust color. The interior was white and the front buckets were white with black inlay that looked button tucked without buttons.
Wood grain rally dash and I installed a Sun super tach where the clock would go.
Car had an air grabber hood. Car was vitamin C orange with a white vinyl top. Cragars front and rear. 3:23 gears. Sold to my friend in Melville NY
Trying to find out if it’s still out there after he sold it.

This past Sunday, Luskville Dragway had it’s ‘’Wayne’s weekend of wheels event’’. The late Wayne Young was owner of Young’s speed shop in Ottawa. He was a key player for everything performance in the valley for decades. Sadly, he pasts away in December 2022 at 85 years of age. Here are a few nice classics at the event. Had a great time, even though I didn’t run my GT. Pics from me and Blayne.

Spare Frame, Too! 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Other than the introduction of a new engine, the 1962 Corvette was much like the 1961 Corvette. It was the last of the first generation C1 ‘Vettes and hit record sales numbers up to that point. This ’62 edition has the second most powerful engine offered that year, the 327 cubic-inch V8 rated at...

As per Alan Reedy, the 1970 Olds DB/SX was the brain child of two Miami Beach Olds dealership. Both teamed-up to create a unique package. One dealer was located in Dade County and the other in Broward County, hence the DB abbreviation. From what I can tell, the DB version of the Olds SX came with all the creature comfort and 455 big block power of the Olds SX…. Plus the addition of a Ram Air hood, special paint scheme and other goodies, I am sure.
