Trick&treat SMA /w us trough daily tasks, yoga, home-made redcord, respiratory physio, and much more!
Happy 2024, 2+2+0+4= 8= that's gonna be a satisfying loop of efforts and rewards! We started this year with a small hack aka arm orthesis which helps to keep my arms straight, which is necessary to actived the aimed muscles, such as shoulder muscles, chest muscles etc. Moreover, this cool aid let me extend my limits and lean side to side and get back my balance independently, yayy! Spoiler we found some interesting training tool for the upcoming contents, which is available in most households, not like this magic orthesis (though guys , it's really worth to invest, or ask for prescription)
Check out this week's yoga video, this time we have a longer video for you to follow (some of it is sped up a bit) It's important that Mira works into every yoga pose, so even asanas that look passive from the outside trigger muscle activity. A single pose is held until she is comfortable and the desired muscle relaxation is achieved. In contrast to passive stretching, in yoga the patient is always in control and the therapist only assists in achieving the desired postures. As with all exercises, this should only be done after the necessary examinations and personalised by your therapist. Seat back and enjoy our harmony session :)

πͺ she is the master of taping (she can tape away the scariest contractures and blood circulation issues)
π¦Ύπ¦Ώ she used also robotic solutions in rehabilitation such as Locomat
π endless source of home made antigravity , almost redcord exercises , you will see soon
π§ββοΈ she is obsessed with balance improving and latissimus dorsi strenghtening exercises
πββοΈ acquaphysio combo with wave acrobacy - invented by her;)
Have you ever tried yoga as a wheelchair user? Try prana Yama respiration, and if you have a creative zen guru phyisiotherapist such as Luca who can assist you (after necessary valutation and stretching), let them put you in relaxing yoga poses to find your harmony.
