Osaka's Gate Tower Building is an amazing sight to see . A highway goes through the building.
It literally does, and there is a story behind it.
THE STORY:
Here it is from the building owner.
It’s basically a land rights dispute with a sort of happy ending.
The property was owned by a business (coal and wood company) since the early Meiji era but when business declined, so did the buildings in the 1970s. The area was approved to be redeveloped in 1983 but the property holder refused to give up the land, even though new building permits had been refused to him. The highway corporation and the property owner negotiated for 5 years and what you see today is their compromise. Highways usually buy the land they’re on but a new law in 1989 allowed the possibility of having two owners on the same spot, really meant for highways to go underground but hey – let’s get creative.
The highway is the legal tenant of floors 5 through 7.
The current building tenant on the other floors is TKP.

FAKE EGGS IN CHINA:
if you are in China be very careful buying eggs, don’t buy the fake ones! Fake egg’s shell is made of calcium carbonate. Egg yolk and egg white are made of sodium alginate, alum, gelatin, eatable calcium chloride and then add water and food coloring.

New bajaj pulsar 220f 2017 version:

Bajaj Auto has introduced the Pulsar 220F at a price of Rs 91,201, ex-showroom Delhi and the new offering is now BS4 compliant. Apart from adhering to the BS4 emission norm, there are no mechanical or design changes. The Pulsar 220F is powered by a 220cc, 4-cylinder, DTS-i, oil-cooled, single cylinder engine which produces 21 hp of power and 19 Nm of torque. It gets telescopic suspension setup upfront and 5-way adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. Stopping power is courtesy a 260mm disc brake at front and 230mm disc at the rear, although it is still not offered with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). Aside from a hefty price rise, a new report from JPMorgan analyst Rod Hall states that Apple will remove Touch ID fingerprint recognition from the iPhone 8 completely. In its place will come a front-facing 3D laser scanner for facial recognition.

Hall says the benefits of facial recognition over fingerprint recognition are that it is widely regarded as being more secure (something banks would prefer as mobile payment services expand) and that it will work well in wet conditions where Touch ID can be less reliable.

The flip side is that facial recognition requires a more deliberate unlocking procedure of holding the phone up to your face which can be inconvenient (especially when walking) and may make users more self-conscious than fingerprint unlocking. Facial recognition can also be less reliable for users who wear glasses, contact lenses or sunglasses though this is something the iris scanner in Samsung’s ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 aced.

Hall also says Apple’s migration to facial recognition technology may have another long term motivation:

“One obvious and potentially most compelling use would be AR/VR experiences in which the user’s hands and other real world objects are being scanned and integrated into a field of view provided by the iPhone mounted into a Google Daydream-like headset. This would open up many interesting entertainment and gaming experiences not available today and might give Apple something extra in an AR/VR accessory compared to Google and others.”

Apple's acquires new startup to boost its AI efforts: Report:

NEW YORK: In a bid to boost its prospects in the world of artificial intelligence (AI), Apple has acquired Israel-based startup "RealFace" that develops deep-learning-based face authentication technology, media reported on Monday. "The terms of the deal are not public, but it is estimated at 'several million dollars'. Apple would mainly be interested in the promise of the technology than pure resources," tech website Engadget.com reported.
