Today we began our final week of Think Factory 2017--Performing Arts Week! The kiddos have voted on doing a production of The Bad Case of Stripes. We auditioned for roles and began to design our sets. Can't wait for our performance on Friday for our parents. So much fun meeting our new friends from China! Looking forward to our tour tomorrow at Warner Bros. Studios!

Percussion was the theme of the day! Thanks to Matt Forsyth and Steve Orkin for bringing in percussion instruments from Remo! We created quite a rhythm section! We also made our own percussion instruments! Tomorrow we will compose music!

Such a busy day!!! We leaned all about zydeco and even made instruments to go along with our exploration--easy boards, guitars and harmonicas! We had a wonderful morning with Wendy Hersh as she taught us about the science of sound, rhythms, tone bells, and kazoos! Can't wait for tomorrow!

The first 2 days of Mixed Media Arts week have been fantastic! We have explored the element of Line through the works of Piet Mondrian. We also emulated the works of Salvador Dali as we learned about the element of Shape. Enjoy our works of art!

We ended Week 2--Terrific Transportation, with a jam packed day! Thank you to Robb and Mitchell Mesecher for teaching us all about bikes! Such a fantastic experience. We ended the day experiencing Santa Clarita's finest public transportation with a bus ride to Baskin Robbins! Great way to conclude our week!

I love it when the kiddos take an idea that I have and make it even better! I had intended for them to map out means of transportation for an imaginary city. They blew my mind---hotels, airport, university, movie theater and more! Tomorrow we will build the cars to drive on the roads they designed. Can't wait!

Today we took the Metrolink train to Los Angeles Union Station, toured the station, saw the first house ever built in LA and rode he train back! Awesome day!

Day 2 of Think Factory Terrific Transportation week was about air travel--parachutes and kites (I know that we don't really travel with kites, but it was a fun design project). Tomorrow onto trains and a tour of Los Angeles Union Station!

Today we spent the day engineering birds from recyclable materials, building birds' nests from natural materials, and creating bird feeders for our homes. Who would have thought that we could accomplish all of that in just one day?!?
