We are absolutely devastated to hear that our great friend Alexander (Sandy) Duthie has sadly passed away.
Sandy joined the band after he retired as a pilot 15 years ago. Since then he had almost every role in the band and was always the first person to show up and the last to leave practice.
The most loyal, generous, witty, kind hearted and wonderful gentleman that we have all had the pleasure of knowing, who always had an incredible story to tell.
Sandy’s funeral is on the Thursday the 17th of August in Cargill, Burrelton.
After speaking with his family, the most fitting way to say goodbye to our dear friend Sandy, would be for all his piping & drumming friends to come together and play some final tunes of farewell.
If you are available on this day and would like to join us playing for Sandy. Please send a message on the page or message Callum Ruairìdh Douglas.
Here’s to you, Sandy. A true gentleman till the end 🥃 🍻

We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of John Elliot. Jock was always an avid supporter of the band and helped us out endlessly. His wisdom, kindness and humour will live long in all of our memories.
We have always shown our appreciation to Jock and G1Reeds.com by displaying the logo on our bag covers and jackets. We will always continue to do so, with even more pride than ever.
We wish to pass on our sincere condolences to Pamela, his family and friends.
Cheers to you always, Jock. 🍻

A very emotional night at band tonight- one of our longest serving members, Sandy Duthie is hanging up his sporran to enjoy a well deserved retirement. Sandy has supported the band in so many countless ways over the years and we can honestly say we do not know what we would have done without him. It is with a heavy heart saying farewell to Sandy but he will always be part of the pipe band and a continued dear friend to so many of us. Best wishes to Sandy and Glynnis. In true Sandy style he has left us a gift , instead of the other way round- a very generous donation, of which we are eternally grateful. Thanks as always, Sandy 🍻
