Dedicated to my Father and his team at the Garnish Volunteer Fire Department • This is something I wrote years ago for them!! 🩵

When we were kids
We were taught that
Hands are for helping
Some people still do that
Out of the kindness of their hearts

We wake up in the morning
Knowing that someone out there needs help
We start our day choosing
to do something for one another
We don't do it for our own selfish needs
But for the amazing feeling
Of putting a smile on someone's face

We may not have the time
But we will always find time to lend a hand
We may even risk our lives
And take moments away from our families
Just to keep your family safe.

We don't wear our hearts on our sleeves
But on our hands, so they're closer to you
Because we are volunteers
And that's just what we love to do!!

Did you know that many smoke detectors come with a built-in, non-replaceable 10-year battery? If your alarm beeps to signal a low battery, it's time for a new smoke detector. Stay safe this !

🔥 🥘 As your community prepares for Thanksgiving, encourage them "to cook with care," as most home fires start in the kitchen.

Practice safe habits that will carry you into the holiday season.

This past weekend two of our firefighters, Chief Cyril Drowns and Capt. Justin Drowns took part in the newest NFPA 1035 Fire and Life Safety Educator. It is our goal to serve our community through Education on fire and life safety. Doing so we need to be educated to ensure we deliver the most important and essential information and know how to pass along that information.
