It all started with a film.

A little film called "Stargate."

With James Spader as Daniel Jackson - the role Michael would take on in the beloved series - and Kurt Russell as Col. Jack O'Neil, the film was released in October 28, 1994.

This weekend marks Stargate's 29th year. So it's been a bit between updates - can anyone explain how this year is going so fast? Anybody got a time machine handy so we can wind back the clock a few months? :-) (We'll take a Stargate in a pinch as an alternative ;-) )

We'll get back to more regular updates but in the meantime, some news for this coming weekend!

For those in the Edmonton area, Michael is headed to the Edmonton Comics & Entertainment Expo!

The Expo is scheduled to run 15 to 17 September, with Michael set to appear on both Saturday and Sunday for Photo Ops, Autographs and a Panel (on Saturday).

HEADS UP FOLKS!

Both Michael and Lexa are presenting online classes via The Drama Class, an organization founded in 2012 to "provide a nurturing and inspiring environment for actors of all ages to learn, create and perform."

Closing in-person workshops in 2020 due to COVID, TDC now offer their courses in an online setting. The Adult Workshops Michael and Lexa are presenting - "The Ultimate Preparation Guide" and "Levelling Up To Leads" - are 2 in a range of adult classes offered. Per their website:

"The new industry standard is that actors audition and attend callbacks from home via self-tapes and Zoom meetings.

These fun and interactive classes will prepare actors for how the industry has changed and help them to develop the skills that will be needed to be a professional actor both now, and in the future."

Michael is heading to the UK in May to join a number of Stargate alum - among others! - at Basingstoke Comic Con.

The convention is being held on the weekend of 19-21 May at the Hampshire Court Hotel in Basingstoke, England.

Stargate alumni joining Michael include Ben Browder, Joe Flanigan, Rachel Luttrell, Alaina Huffman, Rainbow Sun Francks, Paul McGillion and Gary Jones. Also attending are David Tennant (Doctor Who, Good Omens), Osric Chau (Supernatural) and many more!

It's been a quiet few months - apologies, I (Monica - admin) was off elsewhere wrapping up work for GISH (the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt, founded by Misha Collins and Philip Schneider) which came to an end after 12 amazing years.

But now we're in a new year already - and how the heck did that happen so fast? - and it's a new year which will be a good year, with good health and much happiness for all, yes?

A reminder that the Creation Entertainment Salute to Stargate event - Celebrating the 25th Anniversary - is on this weekend, and Michael is attending!

The weekend-long event is being held from June 10-12 in Rosemont (Chicago) at the Westin O’Hare.
