I would like to break down my monthly costs as a business contractor monthly for Maxim Remodeling and Construction LLC !!

Some people think I am unreasonable and over priced, so I’d like to break it down.

I go out of my way to help my orthodox community as much as humanly possible without working for free!

Keep in mind that I am a sole provider for an amazing wife and two amazing children!

What most people don’t understand, I’ll break it down!

My monthly contractor insurance is around $300. That covers me for 2 million dollars in damages.

Monthly work van and tool insurance coverages are around $300.

Monthly unemployment insurance $300.

Monthly accidental insurance which covers accidental hospitalization $450.

I’m about $1350 out of pocket without earning a profit each month! This just covers my bacon!

Average monthly spending between housing, medical insurance, and food is about $3,500.00

So far that’s $4,850.00 before I can make a profit!

This doesn’t include tools depreciation, new toll acquisition, vehicle maintenances, garage leases, and personal spending on clothing and advertising, which is an amount without a price!

I spend almost $5,000.00 BEFORE I MAKE A PROFIT!!

Next time you call a contractor and tell him “you don’t think you should pay that much”, fix it yourself!

You can also thank this garbage administration that that many of you voted for, while asking me if I can lower my prices!

DO YOU those illegals at home depot that you are comparing me to for lower prices are paying what I am monthly????

I have spent years of scarifice learning as a General Contractor, electrical, plumbing, framing, roofing, interior and exterior finishing, windows, siding, landscaping, National Codes in all trades excluding HVAC, and you’re telling me I’m not worth the price?!?!?

Next time you go see a doctor or a surgeon, validate their accreditation! Ask how many doctors went to school in the carribean, over seas or at Devry!

Hanging pictures is relatively easy to do, however; there’s a difference between throwing it up on the wall, and doing it precise!

This is the water that we use for brushing our teeth and washing our faces.

Also the same water that people drink straight from the tap.

Also the same water people use for cooking!!

If you live in an apartment you can’t do much about it, unless you call me over and I can install under the sink water purifier!

However, if you live in a house that’s not on a well, it’s so important to get a whole house water filter!!!!

Human encounters are the best encounters. This just happened within 10 minutes, just now!!

While double parking “somewhat illegally at the bank” I blocked a car in and she turns out she was desperately looking for a contractor to get some work done.

I gave her my card and I’m waiting for her to call for an appointment.

I just got to Home Depot and I was waiting for a spot to park in the contractor section and I decided to go help an older guy that was loading Sheetrock in his pick up.

I noticed his accent and I realized he must be Eastern European and I asked where he is from.
Turns out he’s from Serbia and a licensed architect. He used to build skyscrapers and hospitals back in Serbia.

I’ve been in search of an architect for an addition for a little over three months now.

He was surprised I helped him, and once I told him I was from Romania, he said, “you know, our people are built different. I’ve never had an American ever help me load materials just because!” (Granted it was done with personal interest to get the spot, however I try to help people whenever I can, because we are all human at the end of the day.)

I just gained a potential new client and a new architect to help me grow my business.

Don’t avoid human interaction because you’re too proud or indifferent. You never know who the stranger next to you is!

God puts people in our path and it’s our job to reach out and just be kind humans.

Exterior sunroom was sinking in. After ripping up half of the flooring, mold was discovered everywhere and rotten joists. This project went from a simple (single) joist removal and replacement, to a complete 20 joist removal, exterior load bearing wall re-framing of support beams and bottom plate, with an additional French drain install.

I would like to complement Corad Outdoor Living and Home Improvement for doing an exceptional job installing a French drain at the perfect time that coincided with my work.

Custom built, raised beds with all around mesh to protect from deer and birds.

The client wants to grow berries and in the past they were eaten by birds and squirrels.

The dimensions are 6ft long, 3 feet wide and almost 5 ft tall.

Siding replaced on a dormer.

The siding looks “dirty” but it’s just roof dust that’ll wash away with the first rain. I had to lean on the roof so my gloves got dust on the siding.

Whole house boiler removal and lines re-routed.

Tiling is coming along.

Electrical has been roughed in and the self leveling floor has been poured. Stick around next week to see some major differences as installs will continue.

Demo completed, plumbing roughed in 75%, floors prepped and sealed for self leveling. Electrical to follow later today.

Started demo on a small bathroom. It’s clearly evident that proper waterproofing wasn’t used.

First day back at work in 2023!!! LET’S GET IT!!

Last year I put a little over 64,000 miles (102,998 kilometers)on my work van!

Let’s see if I can top it this year and make it an even more successful year than last year!

2022 had its ups and down. Mechanical issues, two broken bones in my finger, but most importantly I welcomed my baby girl right before Christmas!
