"At 3 weeks of age, my son, Damien, had a severe bacterial infection that affects newborn infants.

Despite being born healthy with an Apgar score of 9, 10 and 10, we did not expect it that he will be so sick that we needed to stay in the NICU at The Stollery Children's Hospital here in Alberta (Canada) for 6 weeks.

He was on antibiotics for 3 weeks and have had complicated seizures. His brain MRI showed unfavorable results.

Since his hospital discharge, he was taking anti-epileptic drugs like phenobarbital, and aspirin for the blood clot. Still the sudden, uncontrolled movements were there.

At 6 months old, he developed a form of uncontrolled movements which occurs 2-3 X a day, where another anti-epileptic drug Sabril was given. Still, the uncontrolled movements prevented him from having a peaceful sleep. He gets more of these uncontrolled movements when he is sleeping.

A month ago he had a slight case of affected muscle tone, movement, and motor skills. We always had visits to his doctors and neurologists and some other specialists. But not until I learned about Reliv NOW nutrition and it's amazing benefits.

Thanks to some friends who introduced me to this "Magic" supplement. Damien has been healthy and free of uncontrolled movements for almost a month now.

How to feed medicine to kids.

THE STORY OF SACHI

Sachi was born on January 22, 2007 to parents Romeo and Toks. He was delivered by caesarian, full-term. On his 40th day of life, an MRI was done on him to confirm a congenital medical condition. The results indicated that the left brain did not form due to a stroke while inside his mother’s womb. At 11 months old, he was diagnosed as having Infantile Hemiplegia.

Early on, Sachi has been having seizure episodes due to epilepsy. He has mild Cerebral Palsy and Global Developmental Delay. He is, in fact, a candidate for epileptic surgery where a portion of the brain responsible for the seizures has to be removed. He has been taking 5 anti-convulsive drugs since 8 months old. Hospitals have been like a second home to Sachi and his parents.

The most difficult trial for the whole family happened in June 2011 when Sachi almost lost the battle. He went into Status Epilepticus, a state when seizures last for hours non-stop. That time, Sachi had to be intubated and confined in the ICU.

Wikepedia defines status epilepticus (SE) as "a life-threatening condition in which the brain is in a state of persistent seizure. Definitions vary, but currently it is defined as one continuous, unremitting seizure lasting longer than five minutes, or recurrent seizures without regaining consciousness between seizures for greater than five minutes.

Despite going through physical, occupational and speech therapies, nothing much has changed with Sachi. Considering the anti-convulsive pharmaceutical drugs he has been taking, Romeo believes the drugs instead cause great damage especially to Sachi’s mental and physical development.

Romeo and Toks reflect on their struggles as parents with a special child: "Children with special needs teach us how to love unconditionally. In return let us not simply watch them undergo their suffering.

Let us have an open mind to take all options to lessen their pain thus improving their quality of life.”

The Dangers of Drugs to Future Generations
