Members of Angelfish -AKA - The Filthy Tongues play at in Glasgow... Great description here........ THE Filthy Tongues are taking over Renfield Lane on Saturday 12th August with their own special festival all-dayer called Dark Places.
With live music kicking off on the day at 6.30pm across Stereo and the Old Haidressers and a DJ set from Man of Moonās Chris Bainbridge seeing the night out till 1am, the event will feature the likes of Casual Worker, Martha May & The Mondays, Kilgour, Run Into The Night, Nanobots, The Head Henchmen and more to be announced.
Casual Worker & Kilgour are both label mates with The Filthy Tongues at LNFG. Casual Worker released an acclaimed EP, āModel Numberā in April 2023 and their live show has been creating quite a buzz around Glasgow since.
Kilgour is the child of Irish singer-songwriter Fionn Crossan. After originally creating a buzz with some self-releases they released EP āSo Farā via LNFG in November 2022, theyāve been building the live audience and getting airplay in the UK and Ireland.
Martha May & The Mondays have been turning heads in the live scene around Glasgow with storming sets at St Lukeās and at their EP launch in Hug & Pint. Brand new EP āLovers & Foolsā was licensed to Universal Music Group and there is another EP coming in August. Martha is proving herself to be an enigmatic performer and also a prolific writer ā so catch her in action.
Run Into The Night are an indie garage rock duo from Glasgow. Since their first release they have been touring the UK opening for bands such as Deap Valley, Goodbye Mr MacKenzie and Twin Guns. They have had radio play from the likes of Steve Lamacq but performing live is where the band really come to life by delivering raw energetic shows whilst recreating the experimental sound captured on their reco ards.
Elsewhere, Nanobots, featuring Jim Brady ex Rezillos and current Goodbye Mr Mackenzie Guitarist and Shona Marshall of the Space Kittens, channel the likes of Buzzcocks, Magazine, Hawkwind, DEVO, Bowie and more to create their own unique sound. The Head Henchmen are a surf-rock band who split their time between Scotland & Canada.
Closing the festival in style will be Chris Bainbridge of psychedelic rockers Man of Moon.

Hi everyone, The Revelations Of Rab McVie has amazingly now reached a point just Ā£500 short of funding the full show (Ā£8K). The crowdfunder will close in one week on Monday 15th May. Again thank you to everyone who has helped out this brilliant artistic endeavour!! Here's the link one last time. https://shop.lastnightfromglasgow.com/products/ # # -the-filthy-tongues-the-revelation-of-rab-mcvie-edinburgh-fringe-fundraiser?variant=44416846135528
UPDATE on the LNFG Crowdfunder!! I'm super happy to tell you that after my post here and the Filthy Tongues newsletter went out we managed to raise an amazing Ā£1K to secure the show which just leaves another Ā£1K to find. We have five months to do this so we think that the Revelations online shop plus other ways to raise cash will do the business. We are hugely grateful to everyone that's chipped in to help realise this great opportunity to make the "Revelations Of Rab McVie" a UK wide show by getting it in the Fringe festival. The Fringe helps as a showcase and we're looking at Manchester, Brighton, Norwich and three other cities to host the show. That's all for 2024 if everything goes well. The fundraise will be closing in a few days so if you still want to contribute here's the link... THANKS TO YOU ALL!!! ...

Hi everybody!
Goodbye Mr. Mcakenzie & The Filthy Tongues (ex Angelfish ) swore that we wouldnāt create a crowdfunder to raise finance for our projects but through a mixture of chance and enthusiasm, weāve found ourselves at the centre of a crowdfunder for the Edinburgh Festival showing of āThe Revelations Of Rab McVie'. The show would not have been able to go ahead if it hadnāt been for the suggestions & dynamism of Ian Smith at Last Night From Glasgow (Our Record Label).
We phoned him to see if he would sponsor the āRevelationsā show He said the label were not in a position to do that BUT that he would go to the LNFG community and see if they would be up for helping get this epic show into the Fringe. Within a matter of hours, he had raised almost 70% of what was needed to guarantee not only the costs of Fringe registration but also lay the financial groundwork for the rest of the show. This was incredible to us that the LNFG community would be so enthusiastic & generous to a Filthy Tongues, Maria Rud, Tam Dean Burn theatre project, but the show is still short of Ā£2K for wages for booking crew and other set up costs. SO weāve come to you to see see if anyone here would be prepared to help The Revelations Of Rab MacVie get over the finishing line for the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival in August 2023. Last Night From Glasgow are offering great cut-price deals at their online store in return for your help. Theyāre basically donating their products and services to āRevelationsā for free to help out!!
The Filthy Tongues & Maria Rud have also created some āthank youā offerings. One of those can be an intimate concert with The Filthy Tongues at some point before the end of the year which we hope will feature Maria Rud and Tam Dean Burn in person.
We need to get our budget up by Ā£2K for this to happen for certain but thatās easier than you might think.
If 100 fans go for the Ā£20 deal then the show has made the target or if 200 fans give Ā£10 then that does it too. If only 70 fans buy the Ā£30 gig ticket deal then that will also get us there.
Weāre hoping this opportunity to perform in the Fringe will allow the show to tour around the UK. The Edinburgh Fringe is the best shop window for promoters to look for potential touring shows and also the Fringe is prestigious which helps in that department too.

GOODBYE MR MACKENZIE NEWS!!. We're sorry to bring more bad news but after consultation with various promoters & our agent all February shows have been postponed.
We can't begin to explain how upsetting this decision was to make after the great feeling surrounding the shows in December. The new dates for England will be announced on Tuesday and the Scottish dates will be announced shortly after that. Of course all tickets are still valid.
We hope everyone understands that this is primarily for the health and safety of the venue staff, the band and of course the fans. Stay safe everybody & we WILL see you soon.
Hi everyone I have a very difficult statement from the band to deliver to anyone who was going to the Barrowlands gig.
āWeāre gutted to have to announce that the Barrowland concert has been postponed. Weāve decided to wait till a safer time of year to play for you, maybe late spring 2022. Dates are being considered by Regular music and the Barrowland Ballroom at the moment. We know people have travelled and have paid for accommodation. Itās heartbreaking that we donāt feel itās safe to play for you. We hope you understand that weāre doing this for the safety the fans and the safety of the band & crew, some of whom have serious underlying health conditions. All we can say is sorry and hope that we will see you somewhere down the line. Take care of yourselves and have a great Christmas. Goodbye Mr Mackenzieā
The Macs crew are looking looking forward to giving it large in a new venue in Dundee this Saturday!! The Church. https://ti.to/gjpromotionsuk/goodbye-mr-mackenzie
