Frozen food or even very very cold water causes a molecular change in the Rabbits ' gut, which trigger the naturally occurring bacteria that's essentinal for digestion to start fermenting. The product of the fermentation is gas, which equals bloat. It doesn't happen in humans or other omnivores because we don't rely on bacterial fermentation for digestion like our hind gut fermenters do.
