Spain: Air traffic controllers plan to go on strike at several airports across country on 30 January and 6, 13, 20, 27 February
The USCA and CCOO unions have decided to go on strike for several days in January and February for air traffic controllers in control towers at privatized airports in Spain, following what they see as a failure to negotiate a IV collective agreement for the sector. In particular, they are calling for a strike for all work shifts starting on January 30 from 00:00 to 24:00 and on February 6, 13, 20 and 27, all Mondays.
This call is addressed to professionals who provide control services in the towers of Coruna, Alicante-Elche, Castellón, Cuatro Vientos, El Hiero, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Jerez, Lanzarote, La Palma, Lleida, Murcia, Sabadell, Seville, Valencia and Vigo airports, reports EFE.

FRANCE: Strike Actions Planned January 19
French unions have called cross-sector strikes and street rallies for 19 January in an announcement made less than two hours after Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne unveiled deeply unpopular plans to reform the pension system. Teachers, electricians, gas workers, metro and rail workers - are expected to cause the most disruption, unions are also targeting the private sector, which is typically less quick to mobilize.
Unions representing French oil workers on 19 January called for strikes against President Emmanuel Macron's pension reforms, threatening a repeat of the refinery and depot closures that caused chaos for motorists last year. A walkout on January 19 will coincide with a national day of strikes and demonstrations, backed by all France's major trade union federations.
Update: 15Jul21:
More restrictions as global infection rates rise
From Monday 19th July, Bulgaria and Hong Kong will be added to England’s travel green list, and Croatia and Taiwan added to the green watchlist. The Balearic Islands and British Virgin Islands are being moved to England’s amber travel list.
Double vaccinated Brits will no longer have to quarantine when returning to the UK from amber list countries if they take a PCR test two days after arrival.
France is advising against holidays to Spain and Portugal as the countries’ infection rates soar and Germany has added Spain to its list of high-risk countries.
In the Asia Pacific region, Australia has extended lockdown restrictions in New South Wales and Japan has declared a fourth state of emergency in Tokyo, where the delayed 2020 Summer Olympic Games will be held largely behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, Russia has imposed new measures in a bid to curb infection rates; including asking international arrivals to quarantine pending a negative test and requiring customer-facing businesses to ensure that 60% of staff are vaccinated.
