Our Story

My name is Dawn and I was born with a glue gun in my hand. Okay, that may not be EXACTLY true because I don't even know if they were invented back in 1964. I am happily married to the cutest boy from my 10th grade typing class. My “babies” aren’t babies anymore - yet, they will ALWAYS be my babies.

Hubby and I just moved from Florida to California. Why? Because God said so..He seriously did. So...not sure what California will bring, but I can guarantee that since the “Boss” is involved, it will something EPIC (in a good way)!

I fell in LOVE with Chalk Paint four years ago...and haven’t put the paint brush down yet! (Okay, maybe just for a minute to type this). I REALLY enjoy taking old forgotten pieces, and adding new life to them with paint. I also REALLY enjoy teaching people to do the same.

Oh yeah, why the name MAGNOLIA MANGOS? No, contrary to popular belief - the name was not taken from the Fixer Upper Magnolia Couple (although I would love for JoJo and Chip to adopt me)! I am from the South. I was raised in Louisiana. Lived in Georgia, Texas and Florida. Magnolia Trees are from the South. My first tree house (which was really a sheet of plywood placed between branches and held up by angels) was in a MAGNOLIA tree. I have 3 girlfriends from “back home” and we refer to ourselves as the STEEL MAGNOLIAS. I lived in a neighborhood in Atlanta and the joke was that every home was required by the HOA to have a painting of a MAGNOLIA (because we all did). Bottom line> MAGNOLIAS have been a part of my life as long as I can remember.
