Hello! It’s been a while since I’ve said hi.✨ I’m Sharon and I’m the face behind my jewellery label, SHAZOEY. I’m a mum of 2 and I make each and every piece of jewellery here by hand in my little Sydney studio.
A few things you may not know -
✨ The name ‘SHAZOEY’ is a combination of both mine and my husband’s names. He was my biggest supporter starting out, and still is now :)
✨ I stayed up until 2am editing photos for my first collection, and my second daughter was born less than 24 hours later! I should have known when my “stomach ache” was getting worse.. and it was 2 days before my expected due date. I was excited about my launch and wanted to get things done!
✨ I will be celebrating 10 years of SHAZOEY this August 2023! I started out on etsy (and still have a shop there 😌)
✨ I studied Architecture at university. I will always still appreciate good building design and love all things beautiful, though I don’t see myself going back anytime soon. I am very grateful for what I do now - to have the flexibility to be here for my kids when they need me, and to be there for their school activities. So incredibly thankful to all of you who are supporting our little family in this way!!
✨ My first unintentional foray at entrepreneurship was back in high school. I ended up selling most of my HSC final works to friends and family, and also to my Headmistress, who then also commissioned me for a special piece. I gave the rest away to close family. I made paper cut-outs using a tiny surgeon’s scalpel, and my artwork featured bridges from all around the world. Little did I know that was my first stepping stone into starting a small business 🤍

September’s beauty, the Sapphire ✨
It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself, so thought I would say hello and share a bit about myself to those new here! ✨
I’m Sharon, the founder of SHAZOEY and I’m a mum of two daughters aged 11 and 8. With Mother’s Day tomorrow, it’s quite fitting as the SHAZOEY brand began with my journey as a stay at home mum.
Becoming a mum was (and still is!) one of the hardest things I had ever experienced and yet one of the most rewarding.
One day you would be in the highest of highs, watching your newborn roll over for the first time, or hearing the words “I love you mum”. Then the next day you could be in the lowest lows, your toddler fighting sleep for the last 3 hours, your kitchen a mess with dishes in the sink and there is a mountain of clothes sitting on your sofa for the last week, waiting to be folded and put away. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and some days I felt like breaking and could do no more.
SHAZOEY was very much an outlet for me. I had studied Architecture previously and design had always been a part of my DNA. I started by making pieces for myself to wear, until my incredibly supportive husband encouraged me to try selling online. I was pregnant with my second daughter when I launched - in fact I was up at 2am, photoshopping images while in labour! (I didn’t know it at the time). In my spare time I would put together orders and send them out into the world, that little bit of human interaction with my customers made me feel like I was part of a community and helped me through another day. It’s amazing to think how far SHAZOEY has come in the last 9 years. Every time I received an order, I did a happy dance (other business owners can probably relate! 🤣) So from the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank you, for sharing in my dream and supporting my little family in this way.
And for all the amazing mamas including my own, wishing you a Happy Mother’s Day! You deserve to be celebrated and loved! And know that you are doing an incredible job, raising the next generation of little humans is no easy feat. ❤️
With love, Sharon
