I pretty much never care to hear the first 2 1/2 minutes of this song again in my life but the second half is so wonderfully perfect that I will always sit through the beginning. This version is louder and faster and I'd say even better than the studio.

Big Country is one of those underappreciated bands that I think every album has at least a few great tracks. Unfortunately, I think they're often let down by the production and mixing. Anyway, I'd say this falls in the "great songs" category.

Like...I dunno...almost a decade ago, we used to play with Slum Party and those were pretty much my favorite shows we ever played. Then Scott moved and my beloved Slum Party were no more. Scott still helps me out with stuff from time to time and more importantly, records like a thousand songs a minute.

He sent me this a couple months back and I've been meaning to share it. It's basically what I imagine Slum Party would have developed into if they'd stuck around. It's almost annoying how good this is.
