OPERATORS,

As most of you are aware, TIER 1 have not conducted any events so far during 2015 and it is very unlikely that we will do for the remainder of the year.

Although it was not a planned break, but brought on by various let downs and cancellations from the MoD, it has been a good time to reflect on TIER 1, MilSim and Airsoft in general and what we originally set out to do.

TIER 1 is a high end Military Simulation organisation specialising in realistic military combat situations and scenario's. We only use Airsoft technology as it is the current best weapon system.

Unfortunately, this attracts the Airsoft/Milsim community.

80% of that community that attend TIER 1 events are simply not able to participate in the manner we require for our events to unfold correctly. The bi-product of this is that you get dragged in to the quagmire and discussion, ridicule and a down right playground level of criticism by the community that should stick to regular airsoft only and not attend TIER 1 Combat Operations.

The remaining 20% are what we need for our events to unfold correctly and we applaud and appreciate those in this category that have attended the events and have immersed themselves completely and dug out blind, be it in an Urban or Rural environment. Massive thanks to you.

To that end, TIER 1 have decided not to put on public events in 2016, but concentrate on intimate and private hardcore Milsim events only. These will be invite only and be called:

TIER 1 - Sub Operations.

Please do keep an eye on this page and the website during 2016 for these events.

We will send out invites to the right player base and if the event(s) still have places, we will open these up to other individuals and to teams we deem suitable.

OPERATORS

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone that has been in touch regarding upcoming TIER 1 events and enquiring when the next one will be.

Three of the most senior members of staff, including me have had some major things going on in real life which have included representing Great Britain and competing in the world Powerlifting Championship in Finland. And yes the mighty Sheridan did come away with Gold. Fantastic!

They have also included our senior military advisor being on stand by to disappear once again to some of the most dangerous places in the world to clear and disarm mines and other explosive ordnance.

With all this in mind, we decided to hold off until we were all back and available.

The good news, we aim to put at least one event on this year and we are looking at a semi rural/urban event at a fantastic MoD facility.

This will ideally take place at the end of this summer in September.

So as not to disappoint, we will only reveal details once everything is firm and in place, but please keep an eye on this page and or the website.

It is with sadness, frustration and a little anger that we have to cancel this event.

Due to the initial date change, we have lost over 80 bookings and sadly we have been left with too few to make the event a viable option with the cost involved when using Eastmere Village at STANTA.

We understand this is bad for you, bad for TIER 1 and MILSIM in general.

Instead of desperately trying to find an alternative smaller venue we are going to put this operation on hold until further notice. All the planning and preparation is geared around and bespoke for Eastmere Village.

FULL REFUNDS will be available, or you can keep your payment banked with us for the next TIER 1 event.

Good news, we have changed our insurance policy to a new broker and we are delighted to announce that you can now bring your own pyrotechnics to all TIER 1 events.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN HOME MADE PYROTECHNICS - THESE ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN

All Pyrotechnics you wish to use at TIER 1 events must be manufactured by reputable companies and the products MUST be Quality assured following the Quality Management System Standard: ISO 9001:2008

If in doubt, ask a member of TIER 1 staff prior to using or email:

TIER 1 will continue to provide a limited stock of TSLFX grenades and smoke grenades at the events, but our pre-order facility is no longer available.

EDIT: If you are unsure about the suitability of certain pyrotechnics you would like to use for example: A remote detonated Maroon. You must get clarification from a member of TIER 1 staff. Ideally Ed Denson or Sheridan Wray.

****OPERATION BLACK FIRE****

We are back from what can only be described as another epic Urban MILSIM at the mighty STANTA MoD training facility.

Despite the cold weather, all that attended the event played through it and gave their all from START EX, 02:00hrs Saturday morning early hours, until END EX around 06:30hrs Sunday morning.

The standard of gameplay was of the highest and we did not experience any issues nor did we have to overtly marshal any incidents during the event.

The scenario and set pieces we had written were all able to unfold and progress naturally as all teams and individual operators worked within our strict command structures enabling both sides to operate in the realistic military manner we had intended.

For TIER 1 this is what real MILSIM is about, working within a realistic military structure from Rifleman to 2iC to Section Commander to troop Commander right up to the Officer in Charge of the units.

We are extremely grateful to our loyal fan-base and new-comers alike that attend TIER 1 events to experience a taste of what it is like to be a current modern soldier as best we can replicate it without sending you in harms way.

We honour and respect all serving men and women who do put themselves in harms way for our safety.

Massive thanks to all that attended which included players from the UK, Ireland, Belgium and Holland.

Massive thanks to the Excellent Pyro Team.

And finally a massive thanks to the TIER 1 team and close friends, who without you, none of this would be possible.

You will need a minimum of a Patrol Pack between two. This should contain:

Ammunition
Water
24hr ration pack or equivalent
Wet weather clothing
Warm Clothing
Spare batteries
Wets Kit (Tea and coffee)

Please ensure your team mates are aware of this. Keep it light and manoeuvrable.

All,

Please note that due to this event being a 30 hour event, we have discounted the event fee by £10 to £85.

We would like to point out that 30 hours is still longer than most if not all other UK based MILSIM organisations and their events. These organisations still charge a full event fee of £95 for their 24 hour events at STANTA.

Those that attended the previous TIER 1 event at STANTA who were promised a discount due to the MoD shortening our slot there, are able to pay a total discounted rate of £75 for the event in December. You will need to book on via the website and pay the deposit only. You will then need to email: [email protected] indicating that you attended OPERATION DARK STORM

!!!!DO NOT OFFER TIER 1 £60 AS YOU THINK THAT IS FAIR!!!

You will politely be told to not to come to the event or subsequent ones.

Finally, we still have to pay the MoD the full price for the site for a 30 hour event. We also have to conduct the same amount of planning and preparation for the event as for a 36 hour event.

If you are not happy with any of the above, then please DO NOT COME!
