Amidst nerve-wracking moments and tough competition, King Andrei B. Caburnay, a 4th-year IT student from UCLM, secured Gold Medals at both the provincial and regional levels in the Skills Competition by TESDA, Lahug!

He faced off against a formidable opponent from the Sisters of Mary Boys Town for the provincial level. Due to being cautioned against complacency, King Andrei gave it his all in showcasing the culmination of his training with his coach, Ms. Cag Ong.
Even with a stumble in Module B due to a mental block, he still managed to tackle parts of it admirably. In Module C, both competitors faced a challenge where both of them didn’t get a score. Even with these challenges, he emerged victorious, securing a ticket for the regional-level competition.

The Regionals were marked by intensified training, caused by disappointment from his previous competition’s performance. Although his opponent from Bohol withdrew, he still had to demonstrate the task, aiming for the given standard score of 40 points to win the gold medal. With his previous score at 10 points, the gap seemed insurmountable.

By defying all odds, he reached the challenging standard of 40 points, surpassing all expectations and securing his well-deserved victory! Let us all congratulate King Andrei B. Caburnay on this achievement!

In the aftermath of the recent fire in Lapu-Lapu City, the response from the community has been nothing short of inspiring. People from all walks of life, including Greg Baldove III, an alum of University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu Mandaue, joined hands to support those affected.

Generous donations flooded in, with canned goods and rice leading the contributions. The collective effort, spanning from recognized individuals to anonymous contributors, has significantly eased the immediate burdens faced by the impacted families. This outpouring of compassion is a testament to the strength of unity within Lapu-Lapu City. Each contribution, no matter how humble, has played a vital role in providing relief and restoring hope amidst the distress.

This gathering drew students from various branches of the University of Cebu, creating a platform for companies to showcase their offerings. It presented a vital opportunity for fresh graduates and soon-to-be graduates to establish connections in the professional world. The event primarily focused on fostering employer-employee relationships, aligning with the aspirations of students as they transition into their professional careers. Each participating company had the chance to present its vision and plans for the future, capturing the attention of the eager students gathered to absorb insights crucial to their future endeavors.

The symposium was tailor-made for first-year students embarking on their ventures in Web Design and Development which was skillfully led by Leo Lorenzo Soon. Soon’s expertise was on great display as he answered questions and guided the students through the elaborate aspects of functions and objects within JavaScript, offering invaluable insights to the attendees.

The symposium focused on JavaScript Functions and Objects. The insights from Leo Lorenzo Soon's explanations and demonstrations armed the students with confidence and a deeper understanding of JavaScript Functions and Objects, laying a strong foundation for their future ventures in this field.

Organized by DNA Micro and the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue, this symposium stands as a strong testament to the extensive effort aimed at nurturing the next wave of web developers. Nevertheless, our dedication paid off, securing numerous awards in the academic games and sports events, including a triumphant 1st place in the Computer Quiz Bowl and the Valorant scene. Our Mr. and Ms. Intramurals shone brightly, delivering performances that truly captivated. 🥇💻🕹️

Over five days, we witnessed the blossoming of camaraderie and friendship. The unwavering support extended by every CCS student to our representatives acted as a powerful catalyst, providing our players with the essential boost they needed to face our adversaries head-on. 🌟 As the stage lights flickered to life, a collective roar erupted from the CCS students in the crowd, their spirits unwavering in support of their valiant representatives. 🙌 The air buzzed with anticipation as the four-piece powerhouse from the College of Computer Studies, known as 𝟒𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐬, took their positions, ready to conquer the night! 🎸🎤

🔥 Fueling the musical fire stood 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐍𝐢𝐤𝐤𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐧, wielding his vocal and rhythmic prowess. Alongside him, 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐝𝐨 lays down the electrifying bass lines, while 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐯 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 commands the lead, infusing every note with pure intensity. And that's not all – 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐳 unleashes a double dose of talent as he mesmerizes with his vocals and pounds the drums with unbridled passion. 🎤🥁🎸

The opening match of this year's UCLM Intramurals Esports Valorant Championship round is a tense battle of power and strategy; game 1 with the Lotus map alone shows a nail-biting competition when SHS takes the lead during the half-round but takes a mind-blowing turn when CCS closed out the first match with confidence, scoring 13 - 10. 🌟🔥

CCS closed the first half of the second game in the best-of-3 championship with a 3-9 score. Akito-Raze grabs the spotlight with his 5K caught in camera ACE, but the battlefield takes a slow turn when SHS gains its momentum. Yet this momentum never lasts when Mikasa-Jett takes a turn with his operator breaking SHS's confidence. CCS closed the second game once again with a knife-kill ACE by Cypher, leaving a resounding win with a score of 13 - 5. 🗡️💥

Before today's championship event, CCS sweeps the upper bracket elimination winning against Marine Transportation with a score of 13-9 and Customs Administration with a score of 13-5 in a best-of-1 series. In an intense-seeking semi-final upper bracket elimination, CCS slams down SHS giving them a free ride to the lower bracket with a score of 2 - 0. 🎮💥

As the confetti rained down and the championship trophy was hoisted high, the CCS Team stood triumphant, etching their name in this year's UCLM intramurals Esports Valorant Championship! 🏆🎉🥳

Taking the stage with confidence and poise, their presence was not just a performance but a testament to the diversity of talent that courses through the veins of our department. 👏 The audience's collective cheer and support powered through during the performance of their chosen song.

Mr. Nimu N. Gonzaga and Ms. Laica May A. Reyes, adorned with sheer talent and passion, showcased an unforgettable duet performance singing “I See the Light," an original soundtrack from the Disney movie "Tangled." Justine Wayne Miaga, on the other hand, delivered a soulful rendition of "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You," leaving the audience spellbound and moved. 🌟 It was truly a musical dialogue that resonated with everyone present as a resounding applause embraced them. 👍

Their exceptional talent earned CCS the honor of second runner-up in both the duet and solo categories, adding to the legacy of our department's musical achievements and contributing to our collective success in the Intramurals. 🥈🎤✨ We are truly thrilled and grateful for their outstanding performance!

In the championship, Soroño claimed a decisive victory in the initial Singles game, showcasing remarkable skill and determination. Unfortunately, they encountered a setback during the following Doubles match. It was Sepra's triumphant win in the third game (Singles) that allowed the team to clinch victory. 🏅

This win symbolizes the team's commitment to excellence and although the cheers of victory may subside, their triumph will stand as a proud moment for the College of Computer Studies and will serve as an inspiration for future intramural competitions. 🎉

This year’s University of Cebu Lapu-lapu and Mandaue Intramurals event unfolded through the showcase of brilliant minds and beauty of different candidates during the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2023.

🎉Adrian Mathew Cortes, representative of the College of Computer Studies as Mr. CCS, appeared to secure the 2nd runner up spot confidently with his costume inspired by the Philippine mythical God, Apolaki, a formidable deity symbolizing the sun; leaving behind a glamorous impact among the judges and audience. On the other hand, our Ms. CCS Aynn Lorebelle E. Cavan was able to capture the heart of the audience as she ramps the stage with her captivating walk and charm.✨ Her elemental costume was inspired by the Tagalog deity Hanan, a prominent figure in Philippine Mythology known as the goddess of the dawn and morning. Mr. Cortes not only secured the 2nd runner up spot but also received the Star Media Award and best in Elemental Costume 2023 together with his partner on stage, Ms. Cavan.🏆🎊

Each contestant brought their unique blend of talent, charisma, and burning passion to the stage, contributing to an unforgettable spectacle. From the enchanting costumes to the confident strides on the runway, they showcased the best of what our College of Computer Studies has to offer.🔥👨‍💻

Despite the scorching heat and the electric energy of the crowd, each representative stood tall and proud. With the unwavering support of their fellow students and officers from the CCS department, the air resonated with vibrant cheers and lively balloons, adorned in the unmistakable hues of their CCS shirts. They were relentless in amplifying CCS' impact and making their presence known!🏆👨‍💻

🎉The confetti battle captivated onlookers, stealing the spotlight on day one. An incredible sight unfolded as every soul joined the friendly skirmish, department against department. The sky transformed into a canvas of vibrant hues, each color symbolizing the essence of diverse departments. It signaled the prelude to forthcoming contests. As the final flutter of confetti graced the ground, it marked not only the end of the colorful spectacle but also concluded the thrilling Valorant players' showdown. The talented players from the College of Computer Studies celebrated a resounding victory against BSMT in a decisive best-of-one match within the upper bracket, sealing the win with an impressive 13-8 scoreline. 🎮

Lastly, The Mr. and Ms. Intramurals commenced under the starlit sky, igniting an intense competition that could spark flames even in the coldest nights. The Annex I Quadrangle set the stage for this highly anticipated event within the Intramurals.🧒👩

The overwhelming support and love showered upon the participants were truly well-deserved!
