Just beautiful….
I was so happy to be able to take a photo of the Milky Way above the famous Calanais Standing stones a few nights ago.
One of Scotland’s most magnificent and best preserved Neolithic monuments erected 5000 years ago - they even predate England’s famous Stonehenge.
No one knows why they are there but a leading theory is that they are some kind of astronomical observatory.
Whilst at the Outer Hebredies for a conference I met up with local photographer Rob Howard who very kindly took me to the stones for some photos, check out his page for some awesome photos including his wildlife tours on the island. I can’t wait to go back! Link to Rob’s Page is in the comments ☺️
