AVA Halloween Challenge 2022 |
This is my submission for the AVA Halloween Challenge 2022!
The brief was to create the best horror score using only the sounds contained in the media kit provided by AVA MUSIC GROUP. Participants were free to process the sounds however they wanted it to sound. We could distort, stretch, pitch...etc. Be creative! More info can be found on their website.

This is my submission for the Jason Graves scoring competition hosted by ThinkSpace Education. The composition brief was to produce music with a length betwenn 30-60 seconds in any genre that fits the premise about the story of an adventurous hero. I was totally thrilled about this opportunity. Since I'm a huge fan of Jason's video game scores ranging from "Tomb Raider" (2013) to newer releases like "House Of Ashes", I came up with a similar vibe, starting with distinct percussion and venturing into bold arrangements. Music for a possible Trailer Cue
Hello everyone!
In this video I demonstrate how a score of a trailer cue could sound like. I used modern trailer elements, cinematic percussion and orchestral sounds for the epic main theme. Before the main theme appears I created a gap to make a transition easier for the video editor. At the end of the piece the loop from the beginning appears again. The idea was to loop the whole trailer cue if the music was used as a background track for a DVD menu or a splash screen.
The main VST instruments are from Heavyocity and Vienna Symphonic Library. Get in touch for more information.

In this video I demonstrate how a classical music piece could sound when only VST-instruments are being at play. I used my favourite VST libraries from Vienna Symphonic Library. The panning and the reverb are edited to imitate a string quartet in a typical medium sized room.

BRAAAMM IT ON! - This is my entry for the Symphonic Destruction TRAILER RESCORE COMPETITION by Heavyocity. I call my track "SD Bramm Time" because who doesn't like a bit of gnarling sounds?
For the percussion I used Damage 2 excessively. The orchestral strings and brass come from Vienna Symphonic Library. The SFX were created with various patches from the EVO series by Heavyocity.

I was super excited to see the new "The Batman" trailer and decided to recreate the trailer score for educational purposes. In this tutorial I show you how to use cinematic percussion and big brass libraries to create a wide sound for an epic score.
My favourite VST libraries are Big Bang Orchestra, Albion, Damage, Ascension an Rise&Hit.

This is my submission for the Cinesamples scoring competition with Tina Guo in September 2021. My track is called "Ethnic Tribe" since it has lots of spicy ingredients like minor scales, ethnic percussion and a certain middle eastern flavor with wide strings. I was thinking of how Tina would perform this piece and that influenced my writing. I would love to see her replace RoboGuo 🤖 playing on my track!
This was both a great opportunity and a challenging experience. Check out the other entries aswell!

This is my submission for the scoring competition of "Stargirl" in August 2021. I am excited to get offered an exclusive clip from season one of the DC Universe series "Stargirl" with top-of-the-line visual material. It is such a great opportunity from Spitfire Audio to work with top industry material and reimagine it with my own original score. Thanks to everyone involved including Hollywood Pro composer Pinar Toprak for this unique chance. I am a huge fan of hers and I would be super hyped to win the virtual mentoring session with her!
For your information: I used orchestral libraries from Spitfire Audio and Vienna Symphonic Library in the score. Additional synthesizers are from Steinberg and NATIVE INSTRUMENTS. Percussion comes mostly from Project SAM and Heavyocity.
The music has been carefully mastered by Filippo Gaetani at TIC Studio

In this example I combined typical sounds for videogames with song elements. Unlike the game the music for this trailer steps into guitar oriented territory and features parts for action scenes.
Again I used the VSL library for orchestral sounds and the UJAM Carbon plugin for the distorted guitar. I find the heavily processed elements serve the videogame environment better than a recorded guitar.
The music is extremely different than in the original trailer. But of course I wanted to make a difference here. I hope you like it!

With this video I'd like to show you how to create a unique score to an existing trailer. I used Vienna Symphonic Library strings and Heavyocity SFX patches. The percussion was played with Damage 2 and the Glockenspiel came from Spitfire Audio LABS. Some loops are from Steinberg Cubase 11.
The music is far more present than it appears in the original trailer. But of course, I wanted to make a difference here. I hope you like it!

This is my entry for this year's scoring competition of The Cue Tube. I composed the music for my track: "Tales of Spring". The SFX are from the animation studio.
My gear for MIDI input are a KORG X50 Synthesizer and the nanoKONTROL2. I used virtual instruments from Vienna Symphonic Library and Spitfire Audio to achieve the most realistic sound in production. The goal was to compose for a 27-piece chamber orchestra, so there are no risers, drones or electronic instruments being utilised in Steinberg Cubase. The winning score will be performed, recorded and streamed by the professional Northern Film Orchestra in Manchester UK.
