Weekend fun alert:
It's winter time and the plants are starting to die. So whipped up pesto using fresh basil from my garden and made this beautifully looking and delicious pesto braided bread. It tasted great with sumac and red chilly flakes infused olive oil. The tanginess of sumac paired perfectly with nutty and cheesy flavored bread.

Bhindi is a low calorie vegetable and packed with fiber and vitaminC. You can roast it, stuff it or deep fry it. Peanuts will complement this nutritious veggie by providing healthy fats and loads of protein. Here is a recipe of Bhindi-peanut fry, a complete nutritious and delicious dish.

Banana Bread v2--> Super moist and yummy chocolate chip banana bread! The secret is yogurt :D Many people use sour cream but for a healthy replacement, use yogurt. Although the recipe calls for 1 stick of butter, you can replace half cup of butter with half cup of olive oil or apple sauce. Yet to try the apple sauce replacement.

Ragi or finger millet is a very nutritious food. It is rich in protein, fibre, calcium, and iron. It is good for diabetic patients too. So start incorporating this superfood into your diet!!
One of the several tasty recipes you can make with this superfood is ragi laddu. You can eat it as a quick breakfast or snack. You can make many different versions of it. In this version, I added dry fruits, oats, and flax seed powder in addition to ragi flour. Check out the recipe here:

Ever tried to make Tzatziki sauce, a greek cucumber yogurt sauce? Its very easy and I found a way to use my leftover cucumber and mint.
Check out the recipe and whip it up in 5 minutes. I used mint but you can also use parsley, dill, roasted or plain garlic etc. The fun part is you can eat it as a side with rice and sabzi or roti and sabzi or falafel or just like that. It is very refreshing and much needed for the summer to cool off your body!

Salads need not be necessarily made of greens. Lets make this delicious and healthy Mexican salad with Quinoa. I recently started cooking with Quinoa and absolutely fell in love with its taste. It is also a good source of protein and fiber. The beans in this salad will keep you full and pump up the protein intake. Serve with sour cream, guacamole, siracha and some salsa or you can just eat without adding any of these! You can also wrap it up in a tortilla.

Time for some idli and sambhar..Take note south indian foodies :) Idli preparation is easy but it takes some amount of planning. Total hands on time is very less though. So prepare the batter and sambhar over the weekend and enjoy these yummy and soft idlis during busy week.
