Summer workouts can be tough, but your health comes first! Here are some essential tips to prevent Exertional Heat Illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke:
1️⃣ Avoid Strenuous Exercise in the Heat: Plan your workouts for cooler times of the day, like early morning or late evening. Check the heat index or wet bulb globe temp and cancel if in the danger zone
2️⃣ Utilize Pre-Cooling: Lower your body temperature before exercise with cool showers, ice packs, or cold drinks. Or jump in our full body cryo machine for a quick stint at -100F!
3️⃣ Hydrate Well: Drink water or electrolyte beverage before, during, and after your exercise.
4️⃣ Wear Breathable Clothing: Choose lightweight, light-colored, and ventilated clothing to help your body cool down. Remove clothing that becomes saturated with sweat as it can prevent evaporative cooling.
5️⃣ Listen to Your Body: If you feel light-headed, extremely tired, or disoriented, stop immediately, get out of the heat and get some help!
