Tour Oparator Association of Sundarban - TOAS

Three unions of Dakop upazila (sub-district) under Khulna district were selected for the training programs. Those are the project implementing areas of Rupantar Eco-tourism Ltd. The three unions are Banishanta, Laudov and Koilashganj. The training schedule was between 12/02/ 2014 to 15/03/2014. Each Training Program has continued for 20 working days. Total 49 vulnerable women have got their training from 3 unions. 40 of them were housewives and 9 were students. 15 each from Banishanta and Laudov and 19 from koilashganj union completed their training course on handicrafts. After the completion of training courses every group made a team. Each team is now producing handicrafts products with the assistance of Rupantar Eco-tourism Ltd.

Every training program started with an inaugural meeting organized by Rupantar Eco-tourism Ltd. The first training program started its operation at Banishanta union on 12th February 2014 at 10-00 AM. The second at Koilashganj on 12th February 2014 at 2-00 PM and the third at Laudov on 13th February 2014 at 10-00 AM started its operation. Coordinator of this projcet Mr. Murad Hossain conducted all the training programs facilitated by Mr. Mustahidur Rahman with the cooperation of local government officials and community leaders as well.

Before the start of every training program Mr. Murad Hossen the coordinator of the project briefed to the trainees about the goal and objectives of the training and how it can be an alternative job for them to build up an exceptional career. Mr. Murad said in three briefing sessions that Rupantar Eco-tourism Ltd. vowed to create a group of handicraft artisans who will seek alternative jobs and to make it a career. Go to advance for its goal Rupantar Eco-tourism Ltd. initiated such a program that can be more helpful to enhance their source of income for their respective families. It will decrease the rate of income dependency on Sundarban. He said, this training program will make our women confident in their field. He called upon the trainees to show their dedication for the training program and make themselves skilled craftswomen. Tourists from local and abroad would be their valued customer. If they can produce quality products it will easy for marketing to the tourists. If one can well train up she will start a new career with confidence. He said, now a days climate changing issues are new challenge for us. We should overcome these problems. Due to climate change storm, cyclone increased very badly in the coastal belt. It affects the sundarban and its nearby villages. It destroys farmland, livestock and other income generating activities. So the indigenous people force to migrate from their own land. Losing their jobs they seek alternative jobs for survive. But numerous people fail to manage it. To save people from that vulnerable situation Rupantar Eco-tourism Ltd. thinks about that and initiates such a unique program. That will help them to seek alternative job. If you need we can arrange more training programs for your skill development. We want you to be a professional craftswoman and develop your life scale. He calls upon to the trainees to receive the training by heart and try to be a professional craftswoman.

On 24th May, 2014, Rupantar Eco-tourism Limited organized the Sundarban Carnival as a yearly event of “Conservation through Eco-tourism”. The carnival started with a colorful rally. The carnival showed its flamboyance from the beginning. More than 400 local people along with elites from Khulna district participated in the rally. The rally crossed over 3 kilometers of village alleyway with great enthusiasm. They chorused slogans on Sundarban conservation in their entire expedition. Koilashganj Shymapada Government Primary School was the venue of the carnival. After the blissful rally local MP Mr. Panchanan Biswas formally inaugurated the carnival. He hoisted the national flag with national anthem and freed the pigeons during the inauguration. Eventually, local folk group performed a “Pot Gaan” (awareness song) on Sundarban conservation, which were trained as the activity of “Conservation through Eco-tourism” project by RET. Local people and distinguished guests have enjoyed the awareness based songs a lot and entire program in very joyous mood.

After that a discussion meeting was held on Sundarban conservation. MP Mr. Panchanan Biswas addressed as chief guest of the meeting. Mr. SK. Md. Abul Hossain (Chairman, Dakop Upazila), Mr. Md. Taufiqul Islam (Assistant Conservator of Forest, Khulna Circle), Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman (Associate Professor of Forestry & Wood Technology, Khulna University), Mr. Md. Ashrafuzzaman (President of Khulna Development Movement Coordination Committee), Adv. Abdullah Hossain Bachchu (Prominent Lawyer), Mr. Binoy Krishna Roy (Local Community Leader, Banishanta) and Mr. Sudeb Kumar Roy (UP Chairman) also keep their speech in the meeting as special guest. Mr. Mihir Mondal (UP Chairman, Koilashganj) chaired the meeting.

After the discussion session on Sundarban Conservation through Eco-tourism there was an event of game show, were the local community participated spontaneously in a festive mood with the help of staff and community volunteers of Rupantar Eco-tourism Ltd. Different ages of local community have participated in the games. Top three performers were awarded from each game. Games were Fancy Dress Competition, Chair Sitting, Memory Test, Breaking Mud Bowl and Sundarban oriented quiz contest were the main of the games, which were enjoyed by hundreds of people with very cheerful manner. Local folk artists showed their performance through singing, dancing and drama day long. Hundreds of jubilant people enjoyed those delightfully program and also appreciated the organizer. A festive atmosphere spread all over the community in the day. The handicrafts production team, who were trained by RET opened a display centre of their products in the carnival ground. Their works were appreciated by everyone. In the evening the drama team performed drama on Sundarban conservation were local people also cherished their brilliance. The carnival ended at late night.

The inauguration program of the Training on Folk culture for development held on 24th January 2014 in Koilashganj Shaymapada Govt. Primary School at 10 AM. Mr. Sunit Kumer Sarkar, The Indigenous knowledgeable person and social development worker has chaired the opening session. There were so many representatives from Social & Cultural sector, Farmers, Fisher-mans, Tailors, Housewives, students, Gov. officials including sundarban dependents professionals attends in this occasion including Professor Gouranga Kumer Roy, Principle of Chalna College, Mr. Rabindranath Mondol, UP Member (Word-4) Koilashganj, Rina Sardar, UP Member (Word-7,8,9), Mr. Mihir Ranjan Sarker, Retired Headmaster of Govt. High School, Mr. Monoj Mondol, Executive Director of Adity, Mr. Sikriti Prosad Mojumder Headmaster of Shaymapada Govt. Primary School, Mr. Hidoy Krishna Mondol, renowned social worker and Mr. Debashish Roy, Teacher of West Dhangmari School.

In Koilashganj the training held on 24 to 27 January 2014. Venue was selected on Koilashganj Shaymapada Govt. Primary School and Executive Trainer was Mr. Monoj Mondol,

In Laudove the training held on 1 to 4 February 2014 on Koilashganj Shaymapada Govt. Primary School and for this group Mr. Monoj Das was provide the training.

In Banishanta the training schedule held on 6 to 10 February 2014 on the house of Mr. Hidoy Krishno Mondol in West Dhangmari, Banishanta. And in this group the trainer was Mr. Shuvongkor Roy.

During the Training period on 27 January our project team member Mr. Mohon Kumer Mondol join us in the Premier show. He inspires all the participants and appreciated all villagers for keep support to implement this project “Conservation through Eco-tourism.

In the final demonstration day Project leader M. Nazmul Azam David attends with some valuable guests like Mr. Imran Ahmed, DCF of Bangladesh Forest Department, Ms. Tanusree Biswas and Mr. Gabrial Belanti, Remote seasing Specialist of United States forest department.

In the occasion there were also present Mr. Ponchanon Biswas, Parliament Member of Khulna-1, Mr. Abul Hossain, Dakop Upazila Chairman, Sree Sanajit Kumer Mondol, Sree Shaikh Jubayer, Sree Binoy Krisna Roy Ex, Upazila Chairman, Sree Mihir Mondol UP Chairman of Koilashganj, Education specialist Professor Sree Narayan Chandra Roy and Social worker Sree Sunit Kumar Sarker.

320 students from 12 primary schools were participated in the preliminary stage of the poster drawing competition on the topic of Sundarban and its biodiversity at their school venues. Both girls and boys students were participated in the competition. They depicted Sundarban from their realistic view with enormous enthusiasm. The event has begun on 20th February and the preliminary selection process was completed on the 9th March 2014. Out of 320 students, 80 were selected for the final round of the competition. The final was held on 4th April, at Koilashgonj Shayamapada Govt. Primary School. 80 students from 12 primary schools were participated in the final extravaganza with a festive mood. Top three of all participants were adjudged as the award winners of the competition. 12 years old Palash Das of Koilashganj Shaymapada Govt. Primary School won the 1st prize and Munna Mistry of Dhangmary Biswanath Govt. Primary School and Sagor Hawlader of Amtola Banishanta Govt. Primary School won 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. Mr. Budhdhadev Mondol an artist of Arts discipline of Khulna University and Debprasad Sardar, assistant teacher of East Khejuria Govt. Primary School were the judges of the competition.

অদ্য ২৮-২৯ জুন ২০১৯ সুন্দরবনে ট্যুর পরিচালনাকারী প্রতিষ্ঠিান সমূহে কর্মরত ট্যুর গাইডদের দক্ষতা উন্নয়নে বাংলাদেশ ট্যুরিজম বোর্ড এর আয়োজনে এবং জেলা প্রশাসন, খুলনা এর সহযোগিতায় “ট্যুর গাইড প্রশিক্ষণ - ২০১৯” শিরোনামে দুই দিন ব্যাপী প্রশিক্ষণের আয়োজন করা হয়।

গত ২৫ অক্টোবর ২০১৭ তারিখ বুধবার ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS)-এর বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভা হোটেল এ্যাম্বাসিডর-এর কনফারেন্স রুমে দুপুর ১২ টায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। উক্ত বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভায় বর্তমান নির্বাহী কমিটি পুনঃগঠনের নিমিত্তে নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। নব-নির্বাচিত কমিটির সম্মানিত সদস্যরা হলেন জনাব মোঃ ফারুক, উপদেষ্টা; জনাব এম. নাজমুল আজম ডেভিড, সভাপতি; জনাব মাজহারুল ইসলাম কচি, সহ-সভাপতি; জনাব মোঃ রফিকুল ইসলাম, সম্পাদক; জনাব আল আমিন লিটন, সহ-সম্পাদক; জনাব গোলাম রহমান বিটু, সহ-সম্পাদক; জনাব শাহ জামান খান পপুল, সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক; জনাব আবুল ফয়সাল মোঃ সায়েম (বাবু), কোষাধক্ষ্য; জনাব মোঃ নজরুল ইসলাম বাচ্চু, প্রচার ও প্রকাশনা সম্পাদক; জনাব মোঃ মিজানুর রহমান, সদস্য (মোংলা) এবং জনাব এ.কে.এম. আনিসুল রহমান, সদস্য (সাতক্ষীরা)।

আজ ২৭ সেপ্টেম্বর বিশ্ব পর্যটন দিবস। দিবসটি উদযাপনে “পর্যটন শিল্পের বিকাশে তথ্য প্রযুক্তি” প্রতিপাদ্য বিষয়কে সামনে রেখে খুলনা জেলা প্রশাসনের আয়োজনে এবং ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS) এর সার্বিক ব্যবস্থাপনায় আজ সকাল ৮ টায় এক বর্ণাঢ্য র‌্যালী অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। র‌্যালীটি শহীদ হাদিস পার্ক থেকে শুরু হয়ে নগরীর গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কয়েকটি সড়ক প্রদক্ষিণ শেষে খুলনা জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়ে এসে শেষ হয়। র‌্যালী শেষে জেলা প্রশাসকের সম্মেলন কক্ষে আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। আলোচনা সভায় সভাপতিত্ত্ব করেন খুলনা জেলার অতিরিক্ত জেলা প্রশাসক (সার্বিক) জনাব জিয়াউর রহমান। তিনি স্বাগত বক্তব্যে বলেন পর্যটন শিল্পের জন্য অপার সম্ভাবনাময় দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিমাঞ্চলে অবস্থিত পৃথিবীর বৃহত্তম ম্যানগ্রোভ ফরেস্ট সুন্দরবন। সুন্দরবনে পর্যটন শিল্পের বিকাশে খুলনা জেলার সার্বিক অবকাঠামোগত উন্নয়নের পাশাপাশি বিদ্যমান বিভিন্ন দর্শনীয় স্থানের সঠিক সংরক্ষণের প্রয়োজনীয়তার কথাও উল্লেখ করেন। অতঃপর খুলনা বিশ্ব বিদ্যালয়ের ফরেস্ট্রি এন্ড উড টেকনোলোজি’র প্রফেসর ডঃ মোঃ ওয়াসিউল ইসলাম একটি পাওয়ার পয়েন্ট প্রেজেন্টেশন উপস্থাপনের মাধ্যমে পর্যটনের সংঙ্গা, উদ্দেশ্য, পরিবেশ ও প্রতিবেশের সাথে পর্যটনের সম্পর্ক, পরিবেশ বান্ধব পর্যটনের বিকাশে তথ্য প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহারের গুরুত্ব, জিডিপি’তে পর্যটন শিল্পের ভূমিকা, সুন্দরবনসহ খুলনা বিভাগে বিদ্যমান অন্যান্য দর্শণীয় স্থানের বর্ণনা ইত্যাদি বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় তুলে ধরেন। সেই সাথে তিনি পর্যটন শিল্পের বিকাশে ও পর্যটকদের সুবিধার্থে তথ্য প্রযুক্তিকে কাজে লাগিয়ে একটি ‘ট্যুরিষ্ট ডিজিটাল ম্যাপ’ তৈরীর প্রস্তাবনা করেন। অতঃপর মুক্ত আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এতে অংশগ্রহণ করেন ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS) এর সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক শাহ জামান খান পপুল এবং গ্লোবাল খুলনা’র আহ্বায়ক শাহ মামুনুর রহমান তুহিন। বিশেষ অতিথি ট্যুরিষ্ট পুলিশ সুপার জনাব দেওয়ান মোহাম্মদ লালন বলেন ভ্রমণবান্ধব পরিবেশ তৈরি ও ভ্রমণ অনুকুল পরিবেশ নিশ্চিতকরা, ভ্রমণকারীদের নিরাপত্তা বিধানে কাজ করা সেই সাথে ভ্রমণকারীদের আইনগত সুবিধা প্রদান করার লক্ষ্যে ট্যুরিষ্ট পুলিশ নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS) এর সভাপতি এম. নাজমুল আজম ডেভিড, সম্পাদক মোঃ রফিকুল ইসলাম, কোষাধক্ষ্য আবুল ফয়সাল মোঃ সায়েম (বাবু), প্রচার ও প্রকাশনা সম্পাদক মোঃ নজরুল ইসলাম বাচ্চু, সদস্য মোঃ ইমরান, অনলাইন পত্রিকা সুন্দরবন সমাচার এর স্টাফ রিপোর্টার শামীম আশরাফ শেলী, জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়ের কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীসহ বেসরকারী বিভিন্ন সংস্থার কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারী, খুলনা শহরের বিভিন্ন আবাসিক হোটেল, পর্যটন ব্যবসায়ী প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রতিনীধি এবং বিভিন্ন স্কুল কলেজের শিক্ষক - শিক্ষার্থী উপস্থিত ছিলেন। বিশ্ব পর্যটন দিবস - ২০১৮ উদ্যাপন উপলক্ষ্যে ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS) এর আয়োজনে গত ১৭-২০ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০১৮ খুলনা সিটি কর্পোরেশন’র বিভিন্ন প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে চিত্রাংকন ও মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে রচনা প্রতিযেগিতার আয়োজন করা হয়। সবশেষে প্রথম, দ্বিতীয় ও তৃতীয় স্থান অধিকারীদের মাঝে পুরষ্কার বিতরণ করা হয়। সমগ্র অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন জনাব শাহীন সুলতানা, সহকারী কমিশনার, জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়, খুলনা।

আজ ২৭ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০১৯ বিশ্ব পর্যটন দিবস। দিবসটি উদযাপনে “ভবিষ্যতের উন্নয়নে, কাজের সুযোগ পর্যটনে” প্রতিপাদ্য বিষয়কে সামনে রেখে খুলনা জেলা প্রশাসনের আয়োজনে এবং ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS) এর সার্বিক ব্যবস্থাপনায় আজ সকাল ৯ টায় এক বর্ণাঢ্য র‌্যালী অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। র‌্যালীটি শহীদ হাদিস পার্ক থেকে শুরু হয়ে নগরীর গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কয়েকটি সড়ক প্রদক্ষিণ শেষে খুলনা জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়ে এসে শেষ হয়। র‌্যালী শেষে জেলা প্রশাসকের সম্মেলন কক্ষে আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। আলোচনা সভায় সভাপতিত্ত্ব করেন খুলনা জেলার অতিরিক্ত জেলা প্রশাসক (সার্বিক) জনাব জিয়াউর রহমান। তিনি স্বাগত বক্তব্যে বলেন ২০৪১ সালের মধ্যে পর্যটন শিল্পের মাধ্যমে অনেক নতুন নতুন কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ সৃষ্টি হবে। ফলে দেশের বেকারত্বের হার কমে যাবে। সেই সাথে তথ্য প্রযুক্তির সঠিক ব্যবহার এবং পর্যটকের জন্য যথার্থ সেবার নিশ্চয়তা প্রদান করতে পারলেই পর্যটন শিল্প আরো দ্রুত বিকশিত হবে। অতঃপর ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS) এর আহ্বায়ক জনাব মোঃ মঈনুল ইসলাম জমাদ্দার তার বক্তবের মাধ্যমে খুলনা জেলা প্রশাসন এবং উপস্থিত সকলের প্রতি ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করেন। এর পরপরই বেসরকারি উন্নয়ন সংস্থা রূপান্তর পরিবেশ ও প্রতিবেশের উপর নির্মিত একটি পট গান উপস্থাপন করেন। পরবর্তীতে সুন্দরবন পশ্চিম বন বিভাগের এসিএফ জনাব আবু সালেহ একটি পাওয়ার পয়েন্ট প্রেজেন্টেশন উপস্থাপন করেন। তিনি তার প্রেজেন্টেশনে খুলনা বিভাগের বিভিন্ন দর্শনীয় স্থান সমূহের সংক্ষিপ্ত বর্ণনা এবং পর্যটন শিল্পের সম্ভাবনার বিভিন্ন বিষয়সমূহ উপস্থাপন করেন। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS)এর যুগ্ম-আহ্বায়ক এম. নাজমুল আজম ডেভিড, সদস্য শাহ জামান খান পপুলসহ অন্যান্য অন্যান্য সদস্য সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধীগন, জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়ের কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীসহ বেসরকারী বিভিন্ন সংস্থার কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারী, পর্যটন ব্যবসায়ী প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রতিনীধি এবং বিভিন্ন স্কুল কলেজের শিক্ষক - শিক্ষার্থী উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এর আগে বিশ্ব পর্যটন দিবস - ২০১৯ উদযাপন উপলক্ষ্যে ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS)এর আয়োজনে খুলনা সিটি কর্পোরেশন’র বিভিন্ন বিদ্যালয় ও কলেজের শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে রচনা প্রতিযেগিতার আয়োজন করা হয়। সবশেষে উক্ত রচনা প্রতিযোগিতায় প্রথম, দ্বিতীয় ও তৃতীয় স্থান অধিকারীদের মাঝে পুরষ্কার বিতরণ করা হয়। সমগ্র অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন জনাব মোঃ রাশেদুজ্জামান, সহকারী কমিশনার, জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়, খুলনা।

গত ১ ও ২ নভেম্বর ২০১৬ বাংলাদেশ ট্যুরিজম বোর্ডের পৃষ্ঠপোষকতায় ও সুন্দরবন পশ্চিম বন বিভাগ এবং ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS) এর আয়োজনে দুই (২) দিন ব্যাপী গাইড প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মশালা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। উক্ত প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মশালায় ৬১ ‍টি ট্যুর অপারেটর কোম্পানি থেকে মোট ১৯৮ জন গাইড অংশগ্রহণ করেছেন যাদেরকে প্রশিক্ষণ শেষে সার্টিফিকেট ও আইডি কার্ড প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথির চেয়ার অলংকৃত করেন জনাব মোঃ আক্তারুজ জামান খান কবির, সিইও, বাংলাদেশ ট্যুরিজম বোর্ড। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জনাব তৌফিক উদ্দিন, সভাপতি, টোয়াব; জনাব হাসান মুনসুর, প্রাক্তন সভাপতি, টোয়াব; জনাব সাঈদ আলী, বিভাগীয় বন কর্মকর্তা, সুন্দরবন পশ্চিম বনবিভাগ এবং জনাব সাইদুর রহমান, বিভাগীয় বন কর্মকর্তা, সুন্দরবন পূর্ব বনবিভাগ। উক্ত কর্মশালায় সভাপতিত্ত্ব করেন জনাব মোঃ ফারুক, সভাপতি, ট্যুর অপারেটর এ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সুন্দরবন (TOAS)।
