Back when my second album, The Fireside Season, was actually reviewed by a real magazine. Sadly the magazine, Whurk!, a Virginia arts and culture publication went out of business during Covid, but “The Fireside Season” along with my other two albums, “Black Crow” and “Deplorables” is still available on Apple Music, Spotify, and wherever else you get your music.
You can also find those albums along with some older archival material over on my Bandcamp page (https://rancegarrison.bandcamp.com).
I’m hoping to get some new solo material out by the end of the year and I’m continuing to work with on our upcoming EP.
It’s been a while since I’ve done this. This is a fairly new song. I’m hoping to get into the (home) studio both on my own and with my buddy this summer to work on some new music, but in the mean time here’s a quick acoustic version of one of the new songs I hope to include on my next proper or , whenever I get around to doing that.
It’s certainly been a busy few years but I feel the NEED to get back into music again now that my life has finally settled down a bit.
Anyway, this one is called “For a Father, For a Friend.” To hear more of my stuff go to rancegarrison.bandcamp.com or hit me up on or .
Now that I’m almost done with the whole grad school thing, I’m gonna try my best to make a record this summer.
It’s been way too long since the last time.
In the mean time, go give my Bandcamp page a visit you’ll be awful glad you did.

I'm trying to get back into the swing of making music. I used to dream of having a voice like Tom Waits or an older Bob Dylan. As I get older, it seems my dream is coming true. I have a lot of trouble with the high notes and my voice is getting rougher with age.
This is an acoustic cover of a traditional English folk ballad called "Barbara Allen." It features prominently in the 1951 film version of "A Christmas Carol," so I figured it was a fitting to do a little performance of this on Christmas night. This is a beautiful song and my voice doesn't really do it justice, but I hope you enjoy.
