Visual acuity is defined as how well a person sees through the usage of a special ratio. You have probably heard that a person with normal vision has 20/20 eyesight. These numbers stand for how well a person sees at a distance of 20 feet, so if it is 20/20 it means that most people can see that object the same at 20 feet away, so that is average and normal vision for a visual acuity test.
How Does An Eye Doctor Test Eyes?
An eye doctor uses a visual acuity test to find out how well a person sees. This test uses a various electronic visual acuity eye charts to see what a person’s acuity is. To do this the doctor needs acuity testing software such as the Acuity Master program.
