True friends are remembered not just for their words during good times, but more importantly, for their support and presence during difficult times.

The Palestinian community in Saint Martin arrived on the island fleeing ethnic cleansing in 1948 and 1967. They came seeking refuge and peace, and ever since, they have been an integrated part of the community and the economy.

Contrary to rumors that they are inclined to fight, such an idea is far from any logical reasoning or reality. Throughout their history here, there has been no violence since their arrival on this island.

None of them are employed in traditional jobs; they are mostly business owners . I personally don't know a single Palestinian who doesn't own a very successful business and who doesn't pay their taxes.

The entire world is standing against the genocide, with the largest demonstrations cities have witnessed over the past 40 days. This made Palestinians feel that they are not alone & has restored our faith in humanity.

Living in a small place, the lack of action will only leave the Palestinian community feeling as though they are not a part of this community.

We are not numbers, up to date 11,000 people killed including 4000 kids & infants. That is 24% of Sint Maarten population including 9% are kids. Let that sink for a moment.

The Netherlands guarantees freedom of expression, which is laid down in Article 7 of the Dutch Constitution. Don't be afraid to speak up.
