Yesterday, I announced my run for the 137th Assembly District. A seat previously held by the late Assemblyman David F. Gantt. I grew up walking the streets of Southwest Rochester with my father the late Honorable Willie Walker Lightfoot and it’s my father’s dedication to the community that taught me how hard work and service to others could empower people to change their quality of life.
It is from these humble beginnings and a desire to serve others that I joined the United States Air Force and became a member of one of the first squadrons on the ground during the Desert Storm War. I also served the Rochester Community as a Rochester FireFighter putting out fires and saving lives for 20 years before retirement. As an elected official, I served the 27th Legislative District for 10 years as a County Legislator and I am currently in my second term as a Rochester City Councilman At Large.
Today, I ask for your support as we work together to restore hope to our communities and ensure safer streets for our families. Together, we can be a part of today’s change, so our tomorrow can be one our children remember.
