It has been a while since we posted anything. The attached pictures are of a job we did this weekend. This time we took two pictures to show the progress before and after one pass.

Maintenance is important for anything we own. Carpets are no different. A lot of the pictures on our page are of carpets that show a noticeable difference. We post these pictures because we are proud of the result, but this is just a small part of our business. Most of the work we do is for people that want to save money by prolonging the life of their carpets. The attached picture is an example. This carpet looked relatively clean, but we did pull quite a bit of dirt out of it. Dirt that, if left in, would start to work in and break down the fibers of the carpet.

Professional Carpet Cleaning, done correctly, can make a noticeable difference, as seen in this picture. This is from one of the units we cleaned this weekend.

Rentals usually only get cleaned when somebody moves out, so they can be a challenge. These are pictures of one we did yesterday. It was a bit of work but it came clean.

Regular, professional cleaning is important for maintaining the integrity of carpets. Ground-in dirt, debris, and soap can work into carpets and damage the fibres.

*Vacuuming, alone, is not an effective way to remove all the ground-in dirt and debris.

*Non-professional cleaning methods can leave abrasive soap particles in the carpet.

If the look, or feel of a carpet has changed, it may be a sign that the carpets need to be professionally cleaned.

Professional Carpet Cleaning saves money!

For most people, carpeting, especially high-end carpet, is not an insignificant investment. Particles, stains, dirt, and excess soap are usually the biggest threat to this investment.

When dirt and particles accumulate on a carpet, they push into the carpet fibers as the carpets are walked on. Vacuum cleaners do not remove all the particles and dirt, leaving them to work in and separate the fibers of the carpet. Once the fibers separate, the look and feel of the carpet is forever changed.

A lot of rental and residential, do-it-yourself, carpet cleaning units do not have enough suction to remove all the soap they use, in just one pass. Generally, it takes several passes with clean water to remove this soap. This can then present a problem with excess wetting which can also be a problem for underlay and floorboards.

Generally, to ensure the full life of a carpet, it is recommended that they are professionally cleaned, at least, once every 12-18 months. This is even more critical for plush, thicker, or s**g carpets. Considering the price of flooring and installation, in the long run, this is usually the least expensive and most effective way to maintain carpet.

A very nice family asked me to clean the carpets in the new place they just moved into. The carpets were in dire need of cleaning. Below are some pictures. I am glad I had a chance to help them out.

**Dust Mites: You shed a half a billion skin cells every day. Over time, many settle into the cracks and crevices of your mattress. Dead skin is a feast for hungry dust mites. These tiny bugs and their droppings can set off allergies or asthma.
**Fungus and Bacteria: The average adult sweats 26 gallons a year in bed. That makes your mattress a warm, moist home for fungus and bacteria. Yeast, mold, and bacteria, including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus, all can be bunking in your mattress.
**Pet Dander: Do you share you bed with your pets? More than half of dog and cat owners do. That means waking up with animal hairs and specks of skin (dander). Dust mites munch on them. Fleas or ticks also can jump from fur and make their way to your mattress.
