"please make it smoother"
OK. Now the fretboard feels like glass and has an almost mirror shine!

A new fretting hammer for myself! I've used loads of hammers over the years and I've found that sometimes I like to use a nylon head over brass. Why not make a Replaceable head then, so I can switch between whatever material I want!
Works a treat with chisels too, without the risk that a brass head brings to a lovely wooden chisel handle.

While out for a walk in a nearby gardens, I found this awesome beech tree with a twisted trunk. I always feel bad about it, but whenever I see something like this I can't help but wonder what the wood inside looks like...

Getting some real progress done with the bench build. It's slow, but so worth it! I just got slats installed on the lower section which will eventually hold a drawer cabinet, but for now they will hold the parts for it.
Doing all the joinery for this by hand is... A decision. Not sure of I'd make the same choice again if I had the option!

Still some of my favourite inlays. So simple, but totally elegant! Brass rings into Brazilian kingwood, stuffed with horse chestnut to match the guitar top.
Throwback to my first build off guitar.

Who else has some shop plants? We all know shop dogs or cats, but shop plants are where its at! I love having that small bit of nature in my making space, just chilling and doing it's thing.
Plus, these succulent types are so undemanding, it's just easy mode really.

Finally hit a major milestone with my bench build. The leg assemblies have been glued and the stretchers fitted. It's starting to actually look like a bench now! I can even rest one of the split tops on the legs and actually use it!
Shame about the god awful lighting at this time of evening...

Well, that's annoying...
RIP my 12mm very nice
Nice enough that I'm absolutely buying a new one ASAP

Couple of Ovankol neck blanks that I've previously squirreled away, now for sale! I've realised that I need to thin the herd a little, so these gotta go!
Some of the best figure I've seen, all fabulously straight grained and about as quartersawn as you can get!
Shoot a PM if interested, priced at £80 each. 20.5mm thick, 100mm x 750mm.

Still working on the depth adjuster, but I grab any chance I can to use this little plane! Cuts like a beauty once you dial it in.
I'll be looking to do a small run of these starting in the next couple of weeks once I have the depth adjustment 100% sorted out, so keep an eye out when they're done!
If you're interested in one, shoot me a PM and we can chat. You can also pick the wood combinations of you want to commit ahead of time.

If it's worth doing, do it extra, right?
A couple of mounts/holders for my dividers/calipers collection on my tool wall.

Some chunky glueups followed by some of the heaviest planing/thicknessing I've ever done...
There are 2 halves of this workbench top, 4 inches of solid sycamore!

29/03/2023

Well, that's something!
Thank you to everyone who has checked out my channel and subscribed, it's a great feeling to hit yet another milestone!

Latest little project all finished up. I wanted a nice block plane for a while, but something different from the ones available out there.
Bloodwood and ebony infill style with a custom made 01 steel blade. Bedded at 15* instead of the standard 20 or low 12.

I'm thinking of making a few for sale, potentially with different wood combinations. Let me know if interested!

Breaking my silence with a bang! I decided to treat myself to some new chisels for the new year because I deserve nice things!
I just need to make some handles first.... Oak burl with flamed sycamore for the real deals, but I need to make some sycamore ones as practise first of all. I'm using an octagon stock before taking them to the lathe for profiling.

Any excuse to use a tiny tool! Paring down the ebony skunk stripe in this roasted sycamore neck with my tiny bronze spokeshave.
