My father is from the trenches of Jamaica 🇯🇲 so in our family:
•Quitting was NEVER an option

•We weren’t allowed to give excuses
•Education was enforced
•Respecting others was a must
•Hard work was not an option
•You were not allowed to be wasteful (eat EVERYTHING on your plate, turn off all the lights, don’t run the water, etc)
•He MADE us save our money… we weren’t allowed to spend

I could go on and on but you get it…
I can remember I HATED having to be so disciplined. I thought my dad was soooooo mean… BUT NOW I get it!!

He was teaching me:
•DELAYED GRATIFICATION
•WORK ETHIC
•FINANCIAL LITERACY
•HOW TO SURVIVE in a world that doesn’t want to see me win!!!
•OVERCOMING OBSTACLES
•SELF CONTROL
•HOW TO MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING, etc

🚨This next part is a message to me, from me, but you’re welcome to read along…

We are often unhappy during the process because we don’t always “get it.” Stretching os uncomfortable and down right just doesn’t feel good😩

When you’re uncomfortable, irritated, frustrated and just down right sick and tired, remember THERE IS A FATHER that has plans FOR US TO WIN, not to fail (Jeremiah 29:11)
If we only did things our own way (because we have a limited perspective) we would fall hard a d fast (Isaiah 55:8)

It might not feel good right now, but have peace knowing God’s always there (Hebrews 13:5) and He’s working it all out on your behalf (Romans 8:28)
