Over the past year, hate crimes against Asians have gone up significantly. Although hate-crime against Asians is nothing new, it’s alarming how often it is happening now, not only in the US, but all around the world.

I never thought I would have to be fearful for myself or my family, EVER! For a while, unconsciously I did not venture out much. I don’t know what people are thinking when they see me & being Asian is not something I can hide. As feisty as I can be, I’m pretty petite & there’s only so much I can do to defend myself.

However, I decided that I’m not going to hide. My culture is a big part of who I am & I refuse to diminish that. I’m going to wear my “Asian-ness” with pride!

We have a long way to go for equality for all of us. We must stand up for each other. We are all God’s children & created equal in His eyes. How much worse does it have to get before more voices speak out?
