Susan's Handcrafts
I'm embarking on a new enterprise: Selling my handcrafted (quilted and crocheted) toys, blankets, hats, scarves and more.
These have been pretty popular for the last few years, so I will have them for sale once again at the Greenway Club Holiday Market on November 16th and the Temple Beth Or Handmade Hanukkah Market on December 8th. I call them "pan handlers"--pot holder "sleeves" that fit over the handle of a pan. Perfect for cast iron skillets.
Several years ago I found the pattern online for these cute kittens. Unfortunately, the instructions were in Russian! Fortunately, they are simple enough that I can make them without instructions. . .and they've turned out to be consistently popular. I will be selling them at the Holiday Market at the Greenway Club in North Raleigh on November 16th and at the Handmade Hanukkah Market at Temple Beth Or on December 8th.
I know that many of us are transitioning away from plastic bags, but here in North Carolina they are still going to be with us for a while. So why not have a convenient (and attractive) way to store them? I'll be selling these at the Holiday Market at the Greenway Club on November 16th and at the Handmade Hanukkah Market at Temple Beth Or on December 8th.
Earlier this month I posted photos of the smaller microwave bowl cozies that I have made to sell at the Holiday Market at The Greenway Club on November 16th and at the Temple Beth Or Handmade Hanukkah Market on December 8th. These photos are the larger cozies. The square ones are like the ones I have always made and sold in prior years. The ones with curved corners are a new pattern. Same size, just slightly different look. All reversible, machine washable, and machine dryable.
These Mason Jar lanterns are a totally new item for me. I will be selling them at the Greenway Club Holiday Market in North Raleigh on November 16th and at the Temple Beth Or Handmade Hanukkah Market on December 8th. The pictures who them lit and unlit so you can get a better idea of what they look like.
A plethora of pillows! These are the novelty throw pillows that I will be selling at the Greenway Club Holiday Market on Saturday, November 16th and at the Handmade Hanukkah Market at Temple Beth Or on Sunday, December 8th. Hope to see you at one or both of these events!
For many years one of my most popular items at craft fairs has been microwave bowl cozies. I am now making them in two sizes, and these are the smaller ones. I will share a photo with the "regular" sized bowls as soon as I make them! I will be selling them at the Holiday Market at the Greenway Club in Raleigh on November 16th and at the Handmade Hanukkah Market at Temple Beth Or on December 8th.
I call these "Pot Pinchers"--little finger/thumb pot holders that are more flexible and less awkward that standard pot holders or oven mitts. I'll be selling them at the Greenway Club Holiday Market on November 16th and at the Temple Beth Or Handmade Hanukkah Market on December 8th. Or, as always, by mail! $10 each, plus shipping.
I have started making items for the holiday markets: Greenwood Club Holiday Market (November 16) and the Temple Beth Or Handmade Hanukkah Market (December 1). I'm making many of the things that I have made for years, but also a number of new items such as these :Potato Zappers"--fabric bags for making creamy baked potatoes in the microwave. I'll try to do a better job of posting photos of the things I am making!
I know that I've been neglecting this page, but for the past eight months I have mostly been making wheel chair blankets, chemo hats, NICU hearts, and baby blankets for different nonprofit organizations. I have just started gearing up for the holiday craft fairs, so I will start posting photos of new items soon. Thanks for your patience.
MANY THANKS to everyone who supported me at the recent crafts events. If you need last minute gifts, let me know and I'll see if I can help! My stock is low on many items, but most don't take long to make.
My last post about crafts for the upcoming holiday markets showed pictures of stuffed toys and pillows. Today's photos feature household items: Microwave bowl cozies (available in LOTS of colors and prints), "pan handlers" (pot holders that slide over the handle of a hot pan), table pads (also available in more colors than shown here), crocheted cacti (for those with a brown thumb), and eyeglass cases with an attached elastic which doubles as a bookmark (and makes sure your glasses are right there with your book when you finally have time to read). If you're local but can't make it to either of the events (Greenway Club, 11/18; Temple Beth Or, 12/3), message me for information about pricing and delivery.
I'll be participating in two craft fairs during the holiday season: A Holiday Market at The Greenway Club at 1300 Falls River Avenue on Saturday, November 18th, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and the Handmade Hanukkah Market at Temple Beth Or on Sunday, December 3rd, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. I will try to remember to post photos of my crafts, old and new, frequently! I'll start with photos of small ($10 each) and large ($20 each) stuffed animals.
Well, I sold a lot of my crafts at the event last Saturday, but NONE of my animal pillows! I think they would make a great high school graduation gift--cute in a dorm, right? I had posted most of the photos previously, but will post them again here. $25 each, plus shipping unless you are local.
A few more of my decorative pillows that I will offer at the Paws for Life event...or online!
At the Paws for Life event this Saturday (June 10th), I will also be offering some of my decorative throw pillows. The photos here and in the next post are what I currently have in stock. I can make these in other colors if you would like to place an order.
I apologize for neglecting this page. . .I haven't been making items to sell recently, and I'm sure you all got tired of seeing photos of the same blankets and stuffed animals that I make for charity. HOWEVER, this Saturday, I'll be participating in a fund raiser for Paws for Life, and I decided to give you all a chance to participate as well. I'll post photos here of some of the items that I will be selling at the event, and if you'd like to order something, a portion of the proceeds will go to the charity. This first set of photos will be for dog bandanas, an item I haven't made to sell before. They are $10 each. If you're local, I can deliver, if not, shipping should be minimal since they are fairly small and weigh very little. Sizing (XS,S,M,L,XL) is shown on each photo.
There's a first time for everything! I never before personally knew someone mentioned in a Jeopardy clue. This was from Thursday's show. I am a bit behind in my tv watching.
Once again it's been months since I have posted anything, but I recently finished a custom blanket and matching pillow that are too cute not to share.
It's been months since I've posted anything here, but I've been hibernating! I have made some new items, and more of my older items, so let me know if you're interested in anything! Terrycloth backed flannel burp cloths are $6 each. Pot pinchers (also known as finger & thumb potholders) are $8 each or two for $15. "Pan handlers" (to cover the handle of your cast iron skillet or other hot pot) are just $5 each, as are the hot pads to protect your table. I also have bandana dresses (sizes 2 - 8) for $15 each and microwave bowl cozies at $8 each or two for $15. And, of course, lots of stuffed animals. Pictures for anything not shown here on request. Everything plus shipping if not local, but most would ship for under $10.
TOMORROW, 10:00 - 3:00, I will be participating in the Holiday Market at The Greenway Club, 1300 Falls River Avenue in Raleigh. Stop by and say hi! There will be about 20 vendors, including 5 food trucks! SANTA will be there--so bring the little ones!
Only ten more days until the craft fair at the Greenway Club, 1300 Falls River Avenue in Raleigh! 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM on November 13th. See below for a list of the vendors who will be participating (and a few more of my recent creations).
Here are a few more recent creations!
I'm working on lots of new items for the craft fair at The Greenway Club on November 13th. Here's a sample!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! I'm doing an outdoor craft fair at The Greenway Club at 1300 Falls River Avenue on Saturday, November 13th!! You can read more about it here as more vendors start to add to the page. I will have all of my usual crafts: microwave bowl cozies, diaper changing pads, small and large stuffed animals (both sewn and crocheted), and much, much more. I hope to see you there!
