WTF.... 15 knt Easterly turned to 20+ knt North of East with large breaking waves 🌊 some right into the cockpit.
We were rightly advised to head up as far as possible with our 72 hour covid swab window to enable an easy passage south. Great advise if it the weather cooperated...Which it did not 🤪💩😯🌊🌊🌊⛵

New Sexy 🍑
I have been chasing a hole in the bow keel for years since I got her. Another surprise missed by the surveyor when I purchased the boat...Patch upon patch made it an ugly Frankenstein mess.
While I am on the hard for hurricane season in Clarke's Court Boatyard the good folk at Welding Tec, located in the marina, have provided Mica with some new steel.
She just needs a little makeup 💄 when I get back 🤪

A catch up post that got lost in the shuffle of poor internet speeds and weak wifi found along the way.
This was a worrying crossing of the Mona passage. The deep trenches off Puerto Rico pass between the shallow water of the DR and PR. With contrary wind conditions the waves are unmanageable and very uncomfortable adding many hours and lots of tacks to a crossing.
