The San Leandro Education Foundation is hosting it’s inaugural, SLED Shorties Film Festival to showcase the talent of Alameda County high school student film makers. The SLED Shorties is a film festival for students, by students. Not only will it be a fun and exciting experience, they will also get a chance to network with the other students in the competition and may win prizes. The SLED Shorties
is open to 9-12th graders who are currently attending high school in Alameda County, California. There is no entry fee and the deadline for submission is January 3, 2016. On February 4th, 2016, there will be a screening of entries with the finalists and awards announced on February 5th, 2016. Both events will be held at the state-of-the-art, 550 seat San Leandro Performing Arts Center, located at 2250 Bancroft Avenue in San Leandro. www.SLEDshorties.com. As the name implies, each video with be short with category requirements ranging from 30 seconds (PSA) to 7 minutes (Mini-Documentary).
