Stress can cause a number of physical changes in the body. These shifts are your body's fight-or-flight response to danger — real or perceived. When your body continually repeats this stress response, it can lead to long-term physical and mental health conditions.
For example, chronic stress can cause nausea, stomach pain, constipation, indigestion and diarrhea. Stress even affects the brain long-term, leading to anxiety, depression and headaches, as well as problems with concentration and memory.
