Ahh big love to those namechecking us in a few posts lately. Won't lie, feels like we're shouting into the void sometimes, so glad to know we've got some people in our corner (we also need to have a very big chat some day about what 'lyrical' actually means...)

Ok - a Friday night Psalm to start the weekend: HONESTY.
About 12 years ago, when I was finally starting to cut through in d&b, a promoter (who I won't name, but he knows who he is) overpaid me by a hundred quid. I didn't realise till I got to my car, swiftly went back to the club and said 'mate you've made a mistake with the money'. He said 'no I didn't. I had a good night so put a little extra in your envelope. But you've just passed a test that many fail'.

That man inspired a lot of loyalty from me. I did quite a few gigs for him next couple of years. If he had a bad night I would only take petrol money from him. If he had a good night he overpaid me. I miss those days. This game doesn't always have to be a sharkfest!

I'll tell you a rare and great thing in music. When people actually get what you're about, actually hear the words and the sentiment and the things that you stand for. We try to ride with the right feet forward at all times, there's more to this than just music sometimes - it is appreciated highly when it's noticed 💥

When I was a teenager what I wanted more than anything was to be a jungle/d&b MC. I stand here 25 years later, Moving Shadow alumni and current Super Sunday Kool FM MC. I don't need anything else. Those from the old days know. Its the full house, I don't care about your 'sides' of the game♠️♣️♥️♦️

Listen, I love a sunshine jaunt as much as the next person - but Drum & Bass in my mind has always been synonymous with the cold, the dark. Like minded people under bad weather on gloomy nights. There's a reason this rainy island spawned this genre, and it wasn't sweltering summers and balmy beaches. Autumn & winter = our time. Out come the real🌛🌑✨

Came for the drums and the craic. One of the best things about Headz history sessions is that it's NOT stacked full of old dogs (like me). Majority young crowd long may we live

Don't bug me about the mic being too loud 🤣 at Kool the only way we hear ourselves on the mic is in headphones. Our voice doesn't come out of the main speakers in the room. Its a difficult choice - hear yourself in headphones at a decent level to perform - or have a low level of monitoring, end up screaming and get drowned out by the beats in the room. I'd rather we all just came out the speakers, decks and mic, up loud, pirate style. Would be way easier to judge and set the vibe for everyone in the room and the stream. But that's how it is down there, so we roll with what we have. Big up everyone who joined us
